Spitballing some ideas

Created by: EccE
Team: 2021-22 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 26, 2021
Published: Oct. 26, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I got bored so I made this ACGM: I don't even know if this is better than the current team, but make sure to roast me!
Trades
1.
MIN
  1. Georgiev, Alexandar
  2. Kravtsov, Vitali
Additional Details:
Kähkönen may have a higher ceiling - and I really like the kid -, but is a frustrating player to watch since he clearly hasn't been able to realize his potential yet, being only OK with the Wild. Maybe he fully breaks out in a different system.

While Peart is not the top prospect the Rags are asking for Kravtsov, he still is a 2nd round pick. They get the W in the goalie swap, however. Throw in another young problem child in Lodnia to sweeten the pot.
NYR
  1. Kähkönen, Kaapo
  2. Lodnia, Ivan
  3. Peart, Jack [Reserve List]
Additional Details:
Talbot is Minnesota's number one. He may play as many as 60 games, but that leaves 22 for the backup. I'm not willing to give that much responsibility to Kähkönen, who has looked shaky this year, plus down the stretch last year. Georgiev is much more of a sure thing, although not as highly touted. This is a win-now-move, and the dude is still the same age as Kähkönen.

As for Peart, I never really liked the pick, so I'm ready to give him up in order to inject some talent on the wings. I love Kravtsov as a player and forest green really fits him. (Plus he speaks Russian, which is never a bad thing)
2.
MIN
Waivers - why did we even grab this guy?
    3.
    MIN
    1. Strome, Dylan ($450,000 retained)
    2. 2022 3rd round pick (TOR)
    CHI
    1. Greenway, Jordan
    Additional Details:
Why did the Hawks scratch Strome? The team sucks, Strome's unhappiness grows and his trade value diminishes. Well, that's not the Wild's problem. Strome's value has gone down, and a one-for-one for Greenway would be a high-way robbery for Bowman. That's why he needs to add a pick. Retention is only so that the cap makes sense (both pay 2,55 million)

If stromes value is that low bowman just won't trade him. Hence why he's still on the team.

Well, scratching him for 4 games does not help in any way... I wonder what coach Colliton is thinking

What's most interesting about Strome is that he's the only + on the entire team. That's not a joke. The dance between Strome and management is long and pathetic (from management's point of view) We ALL know who he is. He's a center that can score, but defensively deficient. It is what it is. Since the Hawks have Toews/Dach...there isn't a place for Strome unless it's the #3C to which that's not his game. So I guess he's not allowed to be himself. So winger??? I criticize management for this move for years. He's not a winger!

Rem Pitlick had 8 goals in 8 games last year (AHL)

    Small sample size of course

    But yeah 👀

Probably nothing as he lets his players draw on his whiteboards and doesn't do anything by himself.

Also, sidenote, I wouldn't call Kahkonen better than Georgiev. They're the same age and Georgiev has more NHL games with better results. Also in front of a worse defense.

I like the NYR deal but with Shesterkin looking like Russian Hellebuyck it seems like not the ideal place for kappy to thrive what about as a 1A somewhere

Kähkönen has played 1 game this year and the team didn't show up in front of him. The same thing happened last year to tank his season. 1 Col, 1 STL, and the last game of the season were all brutal games for the team as a whole. Saying Kähkönen was bad down the stretch completely ignores how bad Talbot was in the same timeframe.

    Talbot: 2-2-2, .857%
    Kähkönen: 4-1-0, .872%

The team overall hasn't been very good. It's only a couple bounces away from being 1-2-2. The d-corps is a big downgrade without Suter, Soucy, and Cole so far this year. They are riding Brodin/Dumba 5v5 and on the PK. MN needs the Goli/Spurgeon to be better. Baby steps for them would to at least be better than Kulikov/Merrill 5v5 and the PK. Kaprizov needs to start putting the puck in the back of the net.

This is probably a little too nice of a compliment for Colliton.

Minnesota doesn't need Alexander g. Same with v considering Minnesota has Adam Beckman and Matt boldy. Minnesota also isn't trading Jack p just drafted

Thank you for this great analysis. I opened up my thoughts up there, but you clearly didn't read that. What I was trying to do was to open up a conversation in kind of a "what-if" - style. It doesn't have to be super-realistic.

Your comment added nothing to this conversation. Why don't we need these players? What would you do instead?

We have Adam Beckman and Matt boldy. Boldy will be in Iowa soon. Wasn't trying to be rude. Go fir c abd make a trade for Tomas h. Wing is the last of Minnesota needs. You should trust judd b that Jack p is , and will be good
