why would ottowa trade all of tht for monahan and mangiapane?

I agree it’s a bit of an overpayment based on Monahan’s current career trajectory but I can definitely see how with a certain mix of assets Ottawa could be the 3rd team involved with these 2 teams.

Not with this deal as it sits I’m not familiar with many of Calgary’s young talents so obviously they would ah e to chuck something else in. I agree the mangiapane deal to Ottawa is a bit of an overpayment but I think it makes sense for both franchises

The only way I would trade JBD/Brann is if we are getting high level offensive help or a shutdown RHD

Definitely have this backwards. Calgary wouldnt trade Mangiapane alone for that entire package, why would they add Monahan?

This. JBD and Brannstrom are 2 of the 5 best D prospects (Sanderson, Thomson, Kleven)... can't afford to trade them for forwards.

Ottawa needs defensive help, not forwards... I feel I have been repeating that a thousand times already lol, yet the proposals for forwards still coming in and barely any for D-men.
