Tarasenko is great until he isn't. This would be a decent package for Tkachuk if Tarasenko came with the guarantee that his body holds up, with that being impossible I just couldn't see the deal above happening.
Capitalfail67 and Db1899 liked this.

my thoughts exactly!! is he playing good enough to get out of St.Louis or is this the player you are 100% receiving in a trade? He's been incredible i dont see how he would still want to leave personal success + winning = happiness?

I think you gotta take Lucic on to make that worth it

Even then from an outside prospective i'd take Tkachuk 10/10 when building a contender.
The package is nice and the value is there but a bundle full of long shot's as its a top 10 protected 1st leaving me even more disinterested

Tkachuk is a Spark Plug Goal Scorer who's still young enough to invest in and old enough to lead.
Taresenko was a great goal scorer behind only the few elite Goal scorers 2010-2020 like Crosby ,Mcdavid,Ovechkin really
But that was then and this is now.
Now he's an Injury Prone player who wont likely survive a Playoff's Tough Physical and Grueling Schedule like Tkachuk

If im CGY i only do this if STL retains 2m and you have a deal in place to flip him to WSH to play with Ovi, PIT to play with Malkin,NYR to play with Panarin or DAL to play with Radulov

Tank is playing well, but not remotely well enough for Calgary to justify breaking up one of the best lines in the league (or trade their young future captain)
