No matter who Kleven is, he’s most definitely worth giving up forbort from the Boston perspective. That contract is absolute garbage.

It is not necessary to spend assets to dump Zaitsev because we need him to hit the floor.

A better solution than that would be to bury him in the minors, which would not eliminate his cap hit entirely.

It's what Chicago is doing with Brett Connolly.

I’d like to add Kleven, but not for Forbort. Zboril maybe.

Lauzon would be a solid comparison but with less offense upside.

Was going to go with a Marc Methot comp, but I could see Lauzon too.

This thread is more a case of people not knowing who Tyler Kleven is. Ottawa traded up to get him at 44th OA in 2020 because they knew some teams wanted to pick him (Montreal was one of them)

Nick Fohr was pretty bang on on the kid, there's actually a lot of upside. His stock rose since the draft, Sens are very high on him.

No chance they make that deal. They'd rather give picks to get Forbort if available... What is he worth? A 3rd?

And too many LD to acquire another one... We need RD help, not to get rid of Zaitsev

Finally, Brannstrom is LD not RD

I don't think Melnyk would do that though

And Sens don't only need Zaitsev to hit the floor, they need RD

Yeah, a Forbort-Kleven swap between Ottawa and Boston doesn't make much sense for either team.
