Bowman Fired

Created by: ChiHawk
Team: 2021-22 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 26, 2021
Published: Oct. 26, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Bowman is finally gone, good. Now a true rebuild can begin by letting go of Kane and Toews, they need to join contenders. Flowers obviously as well. Johnson is likely unmoveable but buy him out in the offseason. Let's let these younger guys play and see what they've got. De Haan, Carps, Khaira all move on in the offseason as well. Lowry can be traded as well. Time for a full rebuild on the heals of Cat, Kubs, Dach, Reichel, Lankinen.

For a guy I've always deemed untouchable for a looooong time, it's mandatory for the return to also include something untouchable.
Patrick Kane definitely satisfies that criterion, lol.

As I mentioned in your other thread with the same trade. I can't see the Jets having any interest in paying such a hefty price to upgrade their 3C for two years and taking away money that is better spent on Dubois.

if its proven that Kane and toews knew as well, players did know based on the report, I dont think anyone is going to be trading for them this year

I feel like Kane would have to agree to a extension that the rangers can afford him at otherwise it’s pointless

Prefer to ante up for kane or an upgrade in top 6 over adding toews at the moment for Winnipeg. Great story to bring the hometown kid home, but not sure it takes care as much of a need, for cost and term. Depth is there to have toews to be successful in Winnipeg, but not sure on the cost.

I doubt that salary will be overly restraining in 2023 if Kaapo Kakko were not on the team.

Chicago isn't contending for anything for the next couple of years so keeping Toews and Kane on the roster at a sunk costs does nothing as well. Getting back a couple 1st round picks and Kappo helps them long term.

It's doable next year based on DuBois's contract. If he signs a long term enormous deal at $10M per year cap hit then no, but at a bridge deal definitely doable. Toews obviously, being one of the best captains in the league, brings a lot of leadership abilities and still rarely makes a defensive mistake. I think it's a pretty good upgrade from Lowry personally. Also Toews heads home every summer and sold his place in Chicago recently so betting he would waive.

I don’t want really anything from the Blackhawks org after today even if it helped to win. Beyond disgraceful.

Hard to say what is hearsay, locker room banter, and truth. That said, we're also walking about a 21 year old players at that time in Kane and Toews...kids...what are they supposed to do? They weren't the leaders of the team they are now. Not excusable entirely but to put that responsibility on kids when there are plenty of older statesmen on the team and of course the coaches and front office would be silly.

Because Kane should be responsible?

But still rangers are getting into a bad place with cap. Fox gunna get paid, zibby already got a contract, trouba and goodrow are overpaid so I don’t think Kane would take anything less than 5mil (if not more)

I’d rather not have anything associated from that team including players/ management. Ship him elsewhere. It’s not like he gets us to the playoffs or makes cup contenders anyway.

$5M to $7M is probably accurate for a few years

He gets you to the playoffs IMO; Panarin and he together have proven to be an elite line. That said, do you use Facebook or Instagram? If you are sick about anything to do with the Hawks, then I'd imagine you wouldn't have anything to do with a lot of huge corporations especially social media as they have blood on their hands at a volume that isn't even remotely comparable.

Panarin was not on the Hawks in 2010. He was still in Russia and didn’t come over until the 2015-16 season. That’s a damn half decade later.

Who brought him over? Answer: Stan Bowman

I’m looking at the trade from the perspective of where the Rangers currently are. Kane alone is not getting them to the playoffs. They are fundamentally still developing and no where near a contender. Why would we then trade a young forward with the 2nd highest potential for Kane who’s well into his 30s? At that point what the hell was the point of rebuilding. It makes no logical sense for the Rangers.

Point is he was recruited to Chicago by a handful of the guys who were responsible for the scandal. Just like Kane.
The players had nothing to do with the circumstances you fear connections to.
