Description
Bowman is finally gone, good. Now a true rebuild can begin by letting go of Kane and Toews, they need to join contenders. Flowers obviously as well. Johnson is likely unmoveable but buy him out in the offseason. Let's let these younger guys play and see what they've got. De Haan, Carps, Khaira all move on in the offseason as well. Lowry can be traded as well. Time for a full rebuild on the heals of Cat, Kubs, Dach, Reichel, Lankinen.

The Wirtz family needs to sell the team. Bettman needs to reach out to Adam Silver and how they approached Don Sterling situation with the Clippers. EVERYONE in power needs to go. Q fired. Chevy fired. Marc Bergevin who people aren't talking about...why is MTL not willing to extend him? MB also drafted Mailloux... Everyone from that organization needs to be sent to into retirement from the NHL. I'm sure there are exceptions to every rule, but I can't think of those exceptions right now.

I agree with what you're saying generally speaking though

I have not had time to read it all. I will not be able to get to it for a while too unfortunately. Just heard from some trusted sources that Bowman's opened up. He stepped down, but he's taking people with him. I can't confirm that to be true. I haven't read it yet, but This is just the start. It's not close to finished.

Agree with everything you're saying but still see tremendous value in Toews as a 3C, a roll I saw him being a perfect fit for towards the end of his career as shutdown center, faceoff guy, transition guy, etc. He's never been what I would call one dimensional like Kane which helps he being a plug in the center role anywhere in the top 9.

Ya for sure embarrassment of riches up the middle, probably what the team needs to teach it how to win. Thinking about it Winnipeg should be pulling out all the stops, to attempt to lift cup once in next 3 years, before a scheifele decision and Wheeler retirement. Kind of like Marlins or expos fire sale

right now what has been uncovered and reported its best not to create connections to said players.

What ws reported out of the 14 hawks players the were interviewed, 6 said they didnt know of nothing, 6 said they knew of something after the video coach was fired, and 2 said they knew and those re Boyton and Sopel who came out and confirmed the themselves

You call it cancel culture, I say it would be teams and organizations erring on the side of caution bc even that type of statement, there is good probability they they knew of something at some point during those years, Its not pairing them in the best light t this moment

Being cautious isnt cancel culture

I'm sure after the firing, rumors spread amongst the players. I'm sure prior to the firing a small handful of players had heard something. I'm not so sure Kane or Toews knew something (actually doubt they did) prior to being reported to the head coach, GM, assistant GM, etc. given they were not vets on the team and only 21 years old. Once the players know and it is reported though, that is all the players can do and unless they were there when the incident happened or knew the facts (not bits and pieces of hearsay) enough to cause a riot about it. The players followed the appropriate procedures by letting the management handle the situation which is standard operating procedure for the largest of companies (I work for a 100K person org...we are supposed to report it to management and HR as example). For all they knew, private settlements were made with a gag order and for all we know none of the players discussed it further.

Kane and Toews were never mentioned in the report though which why I'm not going to have a bias in any way shape or form. However, others were named and those of course should be targets.

Here's the full report.

no players names were mentioned in the report. Just bc their names arent mention doesnt mean anything. Kane said he was interviewed as part of the investigation, he is part of the report and one of those 14 players, he falls into 1 of those category of 6. Either he didnt know anything or he did find out something later but didnt say a thing

Not true, Boyton and Sopel were both named in the report as knowing about it and Boyton bringing it to the attention of coaching staff. They interviewed 14 players on the team at that time. You have to read the report. The incident was reported quickly per the report, it's not about the players really, it's about a lack of management doing anything that is the real issue and what is so disgusting. The problems here are the president McDonough at the time, Bowman the GM, Quenneville, etc. Read the report for the full picture as of today although more will come out I'm sure.

It's disturbing how the Coach Q and the management team handled this for sure. Basically this was about AHL call ups trying to make the team

Ya the whole thing is messed up for sure, probably too much time on my hands, but trying to guess who Jon doe is, would it be skille? Or more of a nhl player going forward, that was quite a youthful lineup in 10, too bad such a mess.

No, the player was 20 years old at the time and never made it to the NHL, only as a Black Ace (call up in case of injury) and there were only 2 possible players that fit that age description Shawn Lalonde and Kyle Beach on the AHL Rockford Icehogs. I remember Kyle Beach being called up as a Black Ace but don't recall Shawn Lalonde. The John Doe was also a fighter on the ice and that also fits the type of player Beach was. Very sad story as he was a former #11 OA pick and was expected to be a NHL career player.

Looking like beach, he had a confrontation in 13/14 with a Blackhawks player from 10 and lalonde was all ready over seas by then, and beach was in the ahl. Crazy hopefully he finds some peace and closure after all this.

Without question, this Aldrich guy was a predator, but after reviewing the report and especially the 3rd party woman's account, the player put himself in a bad position as well. Obviously this isn't a excuse as what happened was darn right wrong and like most 20 year olds the greatest decisions aren't always made. That said, Alrich should be in jail and the Hawks management handled this horribly.

In case you want to read it...

I really hope so to. There was 3 different stories from the night of the incident, John Doe's, Aldrich, and the woman and they all vary which to me sounds very strange. There is no doubt something illegal happen but how much John Doe was accountable to his own demise or not is what is not clear. Were drugs involved...possibly. Was being a stupid 20 year like many of us were at the age...likely. Regardless, the Hawks handled this terribly. I truly hope John Doe is able to move on from this, and it does take a lot of courage to come out about it. I truly hope Aldrich heads back to jail as well some way somehow despite the statue of limitations.

Damn that whole situation is tough, so close in ages, and a coach that actually gives you some time and knows your name. Probably quite a after thought are the black aces until they are possibly needed. One tough business,

Yeah, I was close to the league back then as well and a couple friends that were black aces for other teams. It's a rough life and harsh reality living that life bouncing between the AHL and NHL especially for those that were treated like gold in lower leagues (Juniors, NCAA, etc.). It's so much politics that i understand why John Doe put himself in a bad situation where something awful can happen with a coach at the NHL level.

I’m guessing that was a bit of a clique nucleus also, so probably a group that was going to be around for a while, and tough to crack into that group, especially fringe players, so a ton of pressure and a limited window. Still say they should raise the draft age and keep kids closer to home longer, and possibly a little better shot at a education.

Damn both lalonde and beach were basically right out of junior, both having the majority of there time in ohl and whl that season. Minimal pro games, brutal.

I would be pissed if I was a hawks fan, some no name video coach started them on a self destruct mode, upper management messed it right up. The first rounder probably picked to replace buffy or Bickel type got right messed up. Damn shame. That 10 squad with right managing should have hung double the banners and be in islander/Oilers/Canadians conversations
