Honestly, I love chevys scouting staff, that’s the biggest thing we’d lose out on. They’ve done fairly well drafting.

But fresh faces would be great. I like the idea of Gorton, thought he did a good job towards the end of his tenure in NY. Might as well fire Maurice and bring in Tocchet while you’re at it.

I’m curious to see how this all plays out. Quenneville and Chevy are in tough spots.

A new Gm usually likes to bring in his own coaching staff. I would love to see Julien, Tocchet, Boudreau, or bring in a younger coach to see if they can be the next Bednar.

I feel like Tocchet would be a great coach for the jets. I’d like to see some new faces.

Yeah, as much of a horrible situation this is, which it is terrible. There might be at least a sliver of light that can come out of this for the Jets. I doubt Chevy and Q last the next couple of days.

Nothing will happen. He had no clue about it until that MTG. As he had no clue, he wasn't part of the remaining discussions.

If your boss told you that something bad happened and that they were looking into it, you would leave it alone, wouldn't you? When it had nothing to do with you...

It really doesn't matter. You have to step up and he didn't. Whether his intentions were for good or not, his inability to act allowed Aldrich to continue his disgusting acts.

Dude. He wasnt privy to anything. How can you step up if you are under the impression that your boss is going to deal with it

Chevy lied about not being aware of the accusations. He stated that he had no idea about any of the allegations against Aldrich until the end of his employment with the blackhawks, meanwhile he was in a meeting with other executives in which they discussed possible allegations.

Does that not sound bad to you? That’s the issue. Maybe I’m misunderstanding chevys story, but that’s what I’m gathering from this.

He didnt say chevy's employment, he said his, meaning aldrich, which would have been 2 months before...

everyone needs to re read the Jets statement from July that they posted on behalf of Chevy. Its very enlightening on why nothing happened on Chevy's side.

The media, like usual, is twisting those comments

From what I’ve read in the report, the meeting took place May 23rd, 2010. Aldrich’s employment ended in June of 2010. So wouldn’t that mean that Chevy lied? I’m not really following media, I’m trying to read the report and what Chevy said.

I’m not accusing, I don’t want chevy to be caught in this, but from what I’ve read it seems like he said he didn’t know about any allegations until after the end of Aldrich’s employment, yet he was in a meeting before the end of his employment in which they spoke about some of the allegations against Aldrich.

he said "I wasnt aware of anything until just prior to his conclusion of his employment"...thats correct then...just prior equals a month or so.

The report from Chicago just was released, Scott Billick has it, regarding Chevys statements.

If he gets fired, its strictly cancel culture happening

Yeah that’s where it’s tough to say. Because just prior could mean 2 days, 2 weeks, a month. So it’s tough to say. If Chevy truly has done no wrong, no reason to crucify the guy for having his name connected to this all.

For sure. Thats why I think its best for Coach Q and Chevy to have the mtg with Bettman and he can clear them if he thinks that they had no part in it.

Literally the only thing he could have done was followed up with the cops to see if his boss did anything....and like anyone would do that if they are under the assumption that it was taken care of

I feel like people take issue with the fact that no one did anything. Apparently McDonough said he’d handle the situation, but no one took initiative to follow up. Feel like that’s what people have issues with and want to have people held accountable for. But like you said, anyone in that scenario likely isn’t following up when you’re boss has said they’re handling the situation.

Fully agree...and if Chevy did cover it up by playing a role in it(which the investigation didn't say) then I'm fully behind him getting fired...but there is no evidence so I can't see it happening

Looks like what I said is correct...Chevy had no responsibility for the decision and he won't be canned

I’ve said it all along that I’m not accusing him or wishing him to be gone and that if he did nothing wrong that he should keep his job and that’s what happened. Glad that they didn’t just throw a blanket over everyone attached to the situation.
