Oilers easily decline marners contract isn’t something oilers can take on and under no circumstances could it make sense to do so.

Looking over this again I gotta say it’s a train wreck team is much much worse now and in the future good luck on the next attempt cause this ain’t it.

Holloway, Yamamoto, R.Lavoie, and a late 1st is good return for Marner. But Leafs probably arnt retaining any salary.

But basically 4 1st round picks is really good value. And getting Mikko Koskinen’s expiring contract. That would give the Leafs so much cap relief. Plus Yamamoto, Holloway, Lavoie and a 1st. Plus all the cap relief..lol.

Sabers would be ecstatic and jumping all over an offer like that for Eichel.

Leafs could trout out lines next season:

Robertson/Matthews/Nylander
Holloway/JT/Yamamoto
Bunting/Kumpf/Kase
Ritchie/Spezza/Simmons

And still have Kerfoot, R.Lavoie, R.Amirov and a sh*t ton of cap space.

And get younger.

Oilers are a train wreck either way, at least this time McDavid has a linemate that isn't Draisaitl

Mcdavid has been doing just fine with jp and Hyman too I know leaf fans have a tough time understanding this concept but depth is important and much rather have that then be handcuffed to marner.

Oilers are only fitting Marner’s contract with retention. For that reason, I don’t see how they could make it work. And I think it’s a bit of an overpay. Just b/c of his contract.

This would give the Leafs so much cap relief, I couldn’t imagine them not jumping all over even Hollaway, Yamamoto and a 1st for Marner with no retention.

lol the miller trade is funny for the sabres
oilers don't really need an expensive winger
Mrazek is a goalie who gets injured every five games

As a Sabre fan I would take that MIller trade without hesitation.
A second in this years draft, a RHD who could be a perfect partner for Dahlin signed to a decent contract for the next four years and a prospect.

@LetsGoPens69 Maybe not "jumping" but should definitely accept it, even with the small retention.
Buffalo should be happy with the Kassian trade as well.
Kassian will fill a RW hole the Sabres have now that Reinhart was traded and Thompson was moved to center.
I think they are far from being a playoff team but taking that return for Eichel and Miller while adding Kassian would make them more competitive.
Plus they would have decent prospects and multiple picks to build upon.
Since Mrázek is not a Sabre, I would think Koskinen would be removed from the trade as well.
But if Edmonton wanted Tokarski, IMO the Sabres would love to have Koskinen in return.
