Call me crazy, but I think this trade hurts Detroit more than helps. Hronek is very good and Bertuzzi is a very solid top 6 winger. I’m still high on Zadina. I don’t like it for Detroit. They’d be better off doing nothing and just letting their guys continue to develop. Especially considering they could get a top center in either this draft or next year.

Being able to sign players to replace hronek and antivax in free agency is much more likely than getting an Eichel level player in the draft ultimately

It's almost always ideal to package up

Wright is really the only one in 2022 able to do so

Chock full of really good prospects tho

And in 2023 they'll be top good a team for tanking

I like that this really takes advantage of the 2 year mini era when Detroit have Larkin and ned on team friendly deals and helps convince them to re-sign

No thanks on Eichel, Once he's dealt to his new team and gets his surgery, His recovery time is 4 to 5 months. The odds of Eichel even playing this season is less the 1%.

People have been overestimating on the amount of time required to recover from this surgery. Realistically they said 6 to 8 weeks, so three months would be as long as it could possibly be. If this trade is pulled in December Jack is back and playing before the end of the regular season. Detroit is probably not aiming for the playoffs anyway, but you’re not trading for Jack Eichel just for this season.

Are you talking replacement or spinal fusion?

I wouldn't give up that much for Eichel. He had no problem signing signing an 8yr contract making $10M a season. He need to pull up his big girl pants and honor his comments.

I got news for, My childhood friend who's also the Red Wings team physician does this for a living. And the healing time is more then 6 to 8 weeks. At minimal it's 3 to 4 months and longer depending on what he's getting done here..

Detroit is not a trade partner for Eichel.
