That would be the max the Hawks could retain salary. Teams can only retain 3 salary contracts per season.

They would have all that buried money too. Brett Connolly as well.

Raty, a late 1st, and late 2nd is a good deal for Kane and 50% retention for 2 seasons the Isles though. And taking the 2 expiring contracts. Those contracts will have value with other teams at the TD though.

Toews isn't even worth a first any more. He would be a down grade from strome and I would rather chytil at our 3c. I wouldn't take Toews if we got him for nothing at half salary let alone that

Chytil over Toews??? Come on
Strome over Toews????

Toews was obviously out on LITR last year but the year prior had 60 points in 70 games, year prior to that 81 points in 82 games. Still top 15 at the dot, and maybe most importantly, extremely good defensive center still. I don't understand your comment as such.
