Contract is pretty solid for Rielly, especially when you consider how crazy some of the deals for Dmen that were signed in the offseason. The one thing I will say is that once Morgan's skating goes, he is not going to be nearly as effective like he is today. There is a lot of potential for this to look really bad near the end of his deal. But considering this is a win-now team, I guess this makes sense.

He was the assistant GM yes but when you're surrounded by the coach ( Aldrich's boss ), the GM ( your boss ) and the CEO ( your bosses boss ) you don't have much of a say

Yeah I agree with your previous take, although taking actions against him might have been a good thing too, this isn't the worst thing, like at all.

Chevy definitely could've said something but ultimately it seems the decisions were in the hands of Bowman and Quenneville. I think he trusted them to do the right thing about it. But I don't count him as some innocent bystander in this situation. He was still apart of that management group, and ultimately I think the fact his retrospective ignorance on the situation is the only thing that saved his job.

Btw, is the CEO the same then as nowadays?

If we are going by this take, the same goes for the players, who where not directly told, but knew about the event. None of them would have the say to do anything in the organization. I think that any of those people did have the ability to speak up in the media and stir up some stuff, but only recently had this been something the world has really taken notice in and worried about. What if those people hit deaf ears in the media and ended up getting removed and suppressed just like the others.

Well, for some of the players it depends, Toews and Kane pretty much defended Bowman which is kinda stupid, we also know some of the players harassed Beach and called him names
