Rebuild over Would Rangers fans do this

Created by: NDoody
Team: 2021-22 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 28, 2021
Published: Oct. 28, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Assuming the rumours that KAne wants out of Chicago to chase a Cup, does he belive that adding him makes Rangers a contender.

I added Krider to make the money work, Rangers still need cap space to come and he would be the kind of Vet that Chi would want around to build a HEALTHY winning locker room.
Krastov is kinda a throw in cause he wants out.
The Goile gives Chi a chance to move from Flower maybe and a decent backup/ tandem with their prospect Goalie.

Would there need to be another prospect instead of Krastov and does two 1st make it enough?

Gonna be honest man, and this isn't because I am an Islanders fan, but I don't think any team wants any of the members of the 2010 Chicago Blackhawks on their team. So I doubt Kane or Toews is going to get traded. Probably will go somewhere else when their contracts are up in a few years & then we can have his discussion again.

While I agree that no organization SHOULD want them, I find it hard to believe that would actually be the case. You look at the reactions around the hockey world, there were like 2 people who actually put out comments that actually frowned upon the actions of Bowman and McDonough. The fricking entire NHLPA looked the other way for Christs sake. So, while no fan probably wants them on their team, a lot of other team executives are still scumbags and dont care.

Kreider isn’t waiving for Chicago. Plus he recently extended. Plus aside from everything else, a $10 mil cap hit is the last thing we need on our cap. Especially considering the cap needed for resigning Fox and getting a 2C. I can’t see how acquiring Kane helps either of those.

I think the rangers are a team that could handle having him in the dressing room.
Maybe the rumors of him wanting out are because he doesn't want to be involved with that team anymore and despite his past feels like he is a better person than that.
Secondly, if I was him and he is producing at the level he is, I would be wanting to get out just to chase another cup, I really don't see him staying past his contract, he really seems like a guy that would sign a one year 1 mill just to go to a loaded team like bolts or vegas.

Honestly yeah, but until something changes in the Windy City, I don't think he's going anywhere

I really don’t think adding him to the locker room and subtracting Kreider who has already shown the willingness to step in when things aren’t good in the locker room is a smart move for the Rangers (looking at how Kreider supposedly handled DeAngelo last year).

All Very True, and you are not even mentioning Lafreinre extension.
However, it seems that the Rangers are not thinking about the cap right now anyways with the extensions given to Zbad and Kreider. some of that money is gonna have to moved out somewhere, to me Krider seems like the best option to make more cap space, even thou he does like it there.

Part of my thinking aside from Krieder not wanting to go, is that he does have that locker room presents and a Team like Chicago could use it BADLY, which is why they would like having him in the trade besides all prospects and picks.

Yeah the potential Laf, Kakko, Miller and Chytil extensions worry me if these guys hit their potential. Definitely not guaranteed, but will be interesting to see. I personally think Kreider is more valuable to us as a leader than anything else right now and potentially could be moved in a few years.

I think the timing for a move like this isn’t great right now. At this point I’d rather acquire a guy like Kassel or Smith and avoid this situation for the time being.

Yup, I have no idea how they plan to keep the prospects they have with the contracts they have given out. Especially the Zbad on, I don't think you needed that high a number, and this is from an Ottawa fan that was a huge fan of his.

We didn’t have another center of that caliber in the system. Damned if you do and damned if you don’t scenario to me. They couldn’t go into next year with Chytil, Goodrow, Barron and Rooney as their center core.

I don't think any players will or should be held accountable for the allegations against the video coach. He didn't do anything wrong.

Kane doesn't help solve Tom Wilson, and that has been the goal since Tommy beat them up. So for that reason...the Rangers are out

When, allegedly, all the players knew and taunted and made fun of the victim. No one wants to touch that with a 10 foot pole.
