OTT Trade Deadline Sellers Lets finally finish the rebuild

Created by: NDoody
Team: 2021-22 Ottawa Senators
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 28, 2021
Published: Oct. 28, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Doubt Sens could actually sell off all these players and the ones i didn;t even list here like Ennis, Forsberg, etc,
Also they would be under the salary floor, but if they are out of playoffs around deadline, why not make as many of these moves as you can and get the prospects in for for ice time.

I also realize that the Holtz trade is a long long shot, but really he would be the best fit the Sens could get to play with Stuztle long term, unless Sokolov, Formenton or Boucher develop into real top 6 RW's in the nest year or two.

Ottawa appears to be really bending over backwards just to make that trade for Holtz.

Rather unnecessary.

Have you seen him play or watched his highlights? He has a monster shot and huge offensive potential, it was a real sleeper pic by the devils. Gets lots of comparisons to Ovi. He and Stuzle together would probably become the first line in a few years and one of the top lines in the league with Pinto. Plus you would have to give a lot to get him out of New Jersey, I was kinda throwing players in there but I think a 1st and C Brown should be a reasonable amount.

I know Devils fans would be hard-pressed to give him a lot, but this was my way of finding the best right-shot RW on ELC that could match with Stuzle on a line, and really he would be the best option in my mind.
C Brown and a 1st is also a good return, you can keep the second and trade in another player, I would even be willing to make it Brown & Branstrom.

This is really too risky for Ottawa and NJ wouldn't be that interested too. It would be like a team overpaying to get Sanderson. You don't want to trade your best prospect but the other team is paying so much that they are forcing your hand

I understand your desire to have Stutzle and Holtz together but Batherson is no slouch... I actually wonder who could be the right guy to play with Tkachuk and Norris

The 2022 1st round pick (OTT) could be as valuable as Holtz or even better. With Ottawa's defense and the injury bug so far, it's really not guaranteed that they'd get out of the bottom-10 and I don't know if you have looked at the potential top-12 for next draft but it looks absolutely stacked, even more than 2020

Then you have Connor and a 2nd...

Devils don't have anyone in the system that can replace Holtz
Devils need Holtz next to Hughes

I would say keep batherson with Norris and Brady it has really worked out well, and then the need is for a RW to play with Stuztle. If you don't make a trade or draft a legit top-line player this summer that starts in the NHL at 18, I think that the Sens do have options for that spot in Formenton, Sokolov or Boucher. I was kinda playing with the idea of injecting one of them in that Spot. I do however like the idea of a Formenton and Sokolov duo 3rd line with a Good 2 way center like White or Paul. I know there are lots of people who project Boucher as a 2 RW with size and a physical streak aka TOm Wilson type, so we will see.

There is other guys too, like Roby Jarventie for example. There is Ridly Greig who I think will be a top-6 forward... so who knows how things will shape up? Might have to trade a LW for a RW lol

Personally think Stutzle and Batherson should play together

I agree they did look well together I guess it really comes down to if the sens are gonna try to trade for another top 6 or wait for more prospects to develop.
I do think even then a trade will be made you look at all the propsoets we have talked about the problem is positioning.
Formeton - Left Hand - LW
Sokolov - Left Hand - RW(has a full season on the off wing)
Jarventie - Left hand - LW
Greig - Left Hand - LW

Add that to what you already have with both Brady and Stuztle - Left hand - LW
There is a problem there, the only true Right shot coming up is Boucher.
