    Caps decline.

    Remove Toews and DeHaan from Chicago and remove Alexeyev, Eller and the 2023 1st from Caps to make it work.

    The first trade was interesting in the original post, this is a bit crazy. No need for De Haan here really. They would rather have Jensen. Then I don't know why you added the second in there. Since the wouldn't need the space for De Haan, Hathaway could stay too.

    Really this is what I was thinking

    Kane %50 retained
    Gaudette (just to replace a roster player)

    Hagelin (just to give them a bit more flexibility for next season)

    Maybe so, I was merely focused on Toews. Kane is a far more impactful, far fitter player these days, so it's hard to tell with him. Maybe some douchebag GMs would still want him. NOBODY will take Toews right now.
