Description

Probably not the most realistic thing in the world, but if this team were doing well and decided to make an all out push for the cup, I think they could do pretty well. Most of these trades are just rentals and I know people will complain about paying so much for Lindholm, but I feel like he could be a great partner for Trouba. These moves defunct cost quite a bit in picks and young players, but don’t destroy the youth. Personally the center core may not be fantastic, but the overall depth on this team I think is pretty good. It’s tough to project a cup winner, but I certainly think this team could do some damage in the playoffs.

What do you think the numbers need to be to get Lindholm are-signed? Is he worth 6.5 per?

I would rather keep Jones. If they'd take Robertson instead, I'd do it. Otherwise would pass on Lindholm.

The other two trades are great if (fingers crossed) we are in a position to contend by the deadline.

Honestly it would be as a rental. I’m taking into consideration a potential bidding war for him come deadline time. Plus we’ve got too many defenseman ready right now on the left side already in Lindgren, Miller, Nemeth and Jones and eventually Robertson. Lindholm helps this team win now more than Jones and Kravtsov. Given how tight things are gonna be eventually with the cap, might as well take a shot the next few years at trying to win.

Personally would rather Robertson. He’s big and mobile and the last thing this team needs eventually when contending is 4 smaller defenseman in Lindgren, Fox, Lundkvist and Jones. I’d personally prefer Fox, Lindgren, Lundkvist, Trouba, Miller, Schneider and Robertson and Nemeth since he’s still signed for 2 more years.

Unfortunately I don’t see the defense as presently constructed as experienced enough to survive and win in the playoffs. Personally think that’s more important than adding a Schmaltz.
