Moving forward without Keith

Created by: Timmah007
Team: 2021-22 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 29, 2021
Published: Oct. 29, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
After listening to the “leaders” of that Chicago team speak out to what took place im scratching Keith holding him out from playing another game with the oilers organization. Chicago can do what they want with Kane but it seems unbelievable at this stage they will praise Kyle for being brave enough to come forward and in the same breath say didn’t know of anything. Pathetic!! What could our options be to fill the void left assuming nothing can be done with the contract?

if you werent there dont speak as if it were fact. all im saying. you have to give benefit of doubt. and bullying happens all the time, i was bullied, nobody stuck up for me when it happened the only choice i was presented with was to press assault charges since it was actually physically happening to me... not going to ruin kids lives because i was getting beat up in high school, i bullied someone else mentally not physically, but nobody stuck up for him. thats the nature of bullying. Do you know the nature of the bullying, no you know what was said and to who, how much did anyone know of the ordeal? maybe all toews/kane/keith knew was that it happened. maybe they didnt know every minute detail. maybe they were told otherwise by other people like i said you dont know so why are you crucifying them over something they are saying.

All they had to do was admit hearing about it and apologize for not being a good team mate and standing by him at the time of need. That’s it instead the problem in my eyes is Kane and Keith continue to lie which is extremely disrespectful to the message Kyle is trying to get out there. Just admit knowing show the same courage as Kyle for releasing his name as the victim.

There is a 107 page report on the events and the aftermath. Please read it and educate yourself on what you are defending. I feel as though I know enough to speak on this. I'm done with this conversation because there's no point in arguing with you. After reading the forum rules, I feel comfortable enough letting you know that you're a massive piece of **** and should feel ashamed. the amount of trauma caused by events like this is nearly impossible to deal with alone. Beach needed people to step up and they all failed him and instead turned it on him. I know that he penalty points related to posting this can lead to a 30 day ban for breaking the rules. I can deal with that. I just needed to say what I said. If anyone sees this message and feels the same way i do, DO NOT like this message because you can also be disciplined for liking messages that go against forum rules

There is a 107 page report on the events and the aftermath. Please read it so you can educate yourself on what you are defending. I have read it and feel comfortable speaking on the matter. That said, there is clearly no getting to you so this will likely be my last post in this thread. I have reviewed the forum rules and feel passionately enough about this topic to take a potential 30 day ban to let you know that you are a massive piece of sh**. What Beach went through was traumatic. Victims of things like this need help. They need advocates. People to step up for them. It breaks my heart that his teammates chose to ignore it and some decided to turn it on him and bully him over it. To defend the players with a "not their problem, Beach should have dealt with it better" is heartless victim-blaming bullsh**. He needed help. He couldn't deal with it alone. The organization and the teammates failed him. I know this post violates rules and I can take a 30 day ban for it if that's what mods decide. Do not like this message even if you agree because you can get in trouble for liking rule-breaking messages.

lol so you resort to name calling because i disagree with your opinion here. You are bullying ME here into trying to conform with your opinion. there is no factual evidence that kane, toews, keith knew. their names are not mentioned ONE TIME in the 107 page report also 30 pages are citations so its really 77 pages but thats a different matter altogether.

Page 52 of the report. Nick boynton and brent sopel claimed everyone knew Aldrich wanted to do things. Says nowhere in there that they knew something happened. In fact of the 14 interviewed there were 2 that claimed everyone knew (boynton and sopel) 6 that said they only learned about it through rumors AFTER Aldrich was let go, and 6 that said they had no idea that it happened) so 2 out of 14 are saying everyone knew. the other 12 are saying thats not the case.

Its more condemning that Boynton and Sopel claim they knew and didnt speak up about it.... Why didnt they if they knew? kane/toews/etc claim they didnt know. cant help someone if they dont know whats happening. Whats the excuse for Boynton and Sopel?

My question is why did he really want out of Chicago? Timing of investigation timing of the trade way it all went down I’m sorry he’s already in my eyes to be full of bs to use his son as an excuse on top of this matter I can’t help but to see it that way and I’m fully on board telling him to stay home not attend a single oilers event game or practice or charity event nothing that involves the oilers organization.

I totally understand where you are coming from, but if I was GM I'd sit down with him and have a long conversation with many difficult questions before making any sort of decision.

There could be legal consequences too as there are rules around contract termination, etc.

I get that legally can’t do anything about terminating the contract perhaps that’s something league can look at but don’t expect anything until after crap roles down hill and they work way down. Don’t even care much of terminating it but there is nothing stopping Holland from telling him to stay home. Sure Holland can have a sit down with him ask him all the questions he wants but what’s the point? Keith comes clean with him or he continues to lie either way I think there’s too much evidence stacked up against him. Sad part is all I want as a fan is honesty and a statement saying he knew and is regretful for not being the same teammate he would hope others would have been for him if put in that situation. He doesn’t even have to mean if that’s the most pathetic part of it just don’t discredit or disrespect the message Kyle is trying to get out there. Towes had the balls to do so.

Totally agree. Holland should be held to task for overpaying for a guy who is clearly still not a leader.
