I think if VGK can come out of this deal without losing Theodore or Tuch they can count this as a win. If you have Eichel (26), Karlsson (28), and Stephenson(27) you don't need to think about top-9 centers for 4-5 years, so losing Krebs (and even Brisson) is a blow you can withstand. Buffalo may also win depending on the prospects and picks they get.

I'm hopeful this ends up being a win-win for both sides (VGK gets the better win-now option, and Buffalo gets the better long-term option)

Yeah I think they can easily retain 2.5m, get a good draft pick and a good young player or someone with term, like how they got bjork in the hall trade

In general Vegas should not hesitate to give up Krebs to get him.

They got enough good wings, what they need is a top 6 center as while Stephenson has been nice he should not be their 1c. Eichel in between Pacioretty and Stone would make for a very dangerous line.

Cause when your in win now mode sacrifices must be made and losing a solid prospect to get one of the best centers in the league with Eichel is well worth it.
