I think in a flat cap league, Marner is not worth his 11m. By this post, Leafs get Gaudreau and some cap space and next year it's 9m to spend elsewhere without Marner. I kinda think it's a fair trade, not against Marner bias at all. Gee, I hope the Leafs keep Marner at right point on the PP, He has been really good there before, and can really add value to the team.
You're saying in other threads expose Marner to Seattle to lose him for nothing, meaning you think he's litterally worth nothing but capspace.
You obviously can't even see your bias at this point.
Again. 24 yo 90 pt player who gets selke votes are better investments than soon to be broken down Z.Hymans or have a year or 2 left in them M.Granlunds.
It's not as if they are getting two other 24 top 6 forwards instead of him.
This isn't hard to figure out.
If he's traded, and that a big IF, its to a small market team looking for a franchise player for one or two guys that are at most 27 years old and some decent picks/prospects. I don't care if he's overpaid by 1.5m, he still has value.
You're obsessed with capspace, please point out how many top 6 fwds have been signed to $5m plus long term deals that have been successful for more than 3 years.
Cause it's not hard to find the ones that look terrible after 2 or 3 years.
