Niemela is a good long term prospect (maybe ready in 3-4 years) but not now. He's 160 lbs, needs to be at least 185. And Amirov might not be ready until 2023 season. But i could see Dermott in the top 4 and Sandin/Liljegren in the bottom pairing.

what makes you say that? niemela is dominating the Liiga rn at 19, i think hes NHL ready rn tbh, leafs got a special player. Amirov is 20 , i dont know what makes you say that.

haha Liiga is a good league, but alot of players have dominated it and failed at the NHL level. Same with the KHL, another good league but it's not the NHL. Niemela would be thrown around by men in the NHL right now, he's too thin. He won defense-men of the world juniors tournament last season, and yeah his numbers are great, but I don't see him being ready until at least 21-22. A couple of years there and one in the AHL I think. Dubas won't rush him. Amirov COULD make next year's roster. 50/50. Both are intriguing prospects. I saw your profile, you're young, you've got alot to learn

what a solid player evaluation, you ever thought of being a scout?

haha no. I've been watching hockey for 22 years and I just read player profiles. You learn what player types fit where. Few players at age 18-19 make the NHL, only really special ones (McDavid, Matthews, Eichel). Niemela is like a smaller, right handed Sandin. He's got alot of talent, not denying it, but dmen and goalies also take longer to develop and get into the league.
