Chara is becoming a liability

This is the worst decision making we’ve seen from Trotz. Even Komarov provided some value , Chara is singlehandedly costing them games.

yup, it's insane. chara played 18 minutes today. play your top defensemen more, for one, and for two, stop playing chara! i'd rather them give salo a shot now so that they can make a more informed decision with the deadline as opposed to leaving in a guy we know won't make it the full season in that spot, who's costing us games

Chara is dragging down Pulock with him - it’s crazy what they’re doing to cater to this dinosaur. Breaking up the best D pairing in the NHL so that you can have a RD to babysit Chara is actually insane.

He’s been a liability for 3 years

Salo's defense of game is still not up to an NHL level yet give him 20 more games and he will be ready.

yeah, it doesn't necessarily need to be now (they could go for aho now), i just would like to see him get a decent number of games prior to the trade deadline. better to see what you have internally than to overpay for someone at the deadline.

That’s not true. His defensive game is the best part about his game. Salo’s underlying defensive metrics in liiga were great and in the pre-season. Through 6 games he’s arguably the best two way D in the AHL

Even weirder is how reluctant to play Dobson Trotz has been. We’ve got a full season ahead of us, plenty of time for any problems with Noah’s play to be fixed, what’s the point in trying to make Chara work from the first game of the season? Especially when we all know Dobson can handle bigger minutes than this?
