Ya but he would probably sign away soon. Superstars don't seem to like to stay in Columbus.

Why is Edmonton giving up a 2nd to massively downgrade their goaltending? Huh?

Yeah, no. They aren’t getting that high level of a prospect from anybody.

Korpisalo sucks, he's legit terrible. The Oilers have guys in the AHL that are better. Send your cap dumps elsewhere.

Lol how is he “legit terrible”? You looking at three below average numbers from his whole career?

He has shown some very good stretches of play but has never had a chance to be the guy because of Bobrovsky and now Merzlikins. Just because he got beat out by some Vezina-caliber guys doesn’t make him terrible.

He’s anchored a Calder Cup team, been an NHL all star and looked incredible in NHL playoffs. I’m really curious to know how you can deem him as “legit terrible”.

I think you’re wrong. The more teams are involved in “the Jack Eichel sweepstakes“ the more likely that bidding war we said was going to happen actually does. Several teams think he’s the answer to their problems, and they have to beat each others best offer if they’re serious. That means the team willing to give up a player like that might just be the one who wins this thing.

The past 2+ years he has a save percentage of .903 which is below average. Koskinen has posted a .912 over the same timeframe.

Koskinen has outperformed him every season, there's logical way to frame this an "upgrade" for Edmonton.

I wouldn't call him terrible but you're way overselling Korpi here. He got benched in those Calder Cup playoffs in favor of Forsberg, 25% of starting goalies can call themselves All-Stars. Yes, he looked incredible in the playoffs a couple years ago but that was playing with a top5 defense in front of him. When he was given the #1 role to start last season he did not look good at all.
