that's horrible for Pittsburgh

Guentzel's been a PPG player and a 40g scorer

He's probably the last player they should be trading (outside of Sid)

It's interesting and all, but you're not getting the retention.

Erm, and what do you imagine that Tarasenko has been? I mean, you can have your preference on this trade idea, but c'mon.

Guentzel has the chemistry with Crosby, why throw that away?

Guentzel:

- younger

- way way less injury history

- one year more of term

A far superior asset ✔

The only thing tarasenko's been lately is hurt.

What are you on about? He has 4g and 5a in his last six games. Dude hasn't been "hurt" since March.

I think Tarasenko's struggle last year coming back from injury is going to stick in people's minds for a bit. I think last year it was justified to question whether or not he'd return form, but this season has shown he's back to his old self.

If this is the deal, Blues accept. A slightly younger player on a cheaper, slightly longer deal? Even if the Blues retain $1 mil, it's still cheaper than Tarasenko himself. It only makes sense.

That stated, it's exactly why Pittsburgh wouldn't make this trade.

Oh, I'm not saying the Pens should do this. Not at all. I was just responding to the notion that it would be "horrible" for them, as if Tarasenko isn't also big-time scorer.

Even if it doesnt makes sense. What would have to be included in the deal for it to be fair?

If Tarasenko still wants out I think a Rust/Tarasenko trade would IN THEORY be a wise move for both teams. Money doesn't make it work for the Pens, but if there was a way to make that happen I'd do it if Rust isn't going to re-sign with the Pens. Then again, if the Pens could afford Tarasenko they could afford Rust, but I just mean it's a more comparable fix to the situation.

Gonna take more than 6 games to shake that injury prone label

Dude, quit while you're way behind. As I said, he's been fit since March. And before this shoulder issue, he was one of the most durable players in the league. One injury problem does not make him "injury prone".

Having the same injury 3 times does make him injury prone and before these past 6 games he wasn't playing well.

And once again, you haven't the foggiest clue what you're on about. I mean, honestly, how is it even possible to be so wrong so persistently on a topic that has been covered ad nauseum?

Doesn't matter how wrong you think I am. The fact is it's gonna take more than 6 games for teams to believe he's back to his old self from 3 years ago.

(facepalm)

Well, at least you are consistent... -ly wrong. He was lifting a Cup less than 2 years, 5 months ago. And I don't "think" you're wrong. I've repeatedly, factually demonstrated you are wrong.

Literally all you've done is nitpick every fact I've stated. Dudes hurt the same shoulder multiple times and missed more games than he's played for the past 2 seasons. Nobody's giving full value for him until he plays a lot more than 6 games.

Injured, that's what he has been

Tarasenko has looked great so far, but Radu's quote sums it up perfectly (also less expensive)

it makes no sense for Pittsburgh

Wrong. Literally every "fact" you state is wrong. Up to and including using the word "fact" to describe your statements.

For like the 4th time now, I in no way suggested Pittsburgh should or would do this. I've made that explicitly clear. I was simply correcting falsehoods and mischaracterizations about Tarasenko. That's it.
