Buffalo isn't retaining, especially that much

VGK still can't afford that contract, even with the retention. They'll have to move an equivalent amount of salary to get Eichel. At some point, Patchs and Tuch will come off of LTI. For an Eichel trade to happen, the team taking him on must have the cap space pre-trade, before they can put him on LTIR. So, in this instance, they'd need to have $7.5mm available in cap space (which they don't, they can only take on $5M today.)
