If you do this, you'd have to have the extension agreed to.

Value wise maybe, I’m not well versed on the prospect. Practicality wise for Nashville it’s be a pass. RHD is something we definitely don’t need (Fabbro, Carrier, Myers are all 25 or younger). Not the return we’d be looking for (forward prospect + 1st)

I mean we'll be 10 games out of a playoff spot so Idk why we're buying free agents. Id love to add him hes a great player but even if this team is in the hunt I dont see it.

Don't see Forsberg as a need. He's not a C, not a LHD. With Fabbri (a TDL candidate), Vrana, Berggren, Zadina, Raymond, Bertuzzi, Suter (who I think eventually ends up at W) and Erne all being younger than Forsberg, I don't see a need for a FA winger.

Find me a 2C for sure (if not a 1C that can put Larkin as one of the top 2Cs in the league). The LHD are somewhat coming.

well larkin's great and still only 25, pius suter looks alright and it's still early for him, veleno should be a top 6 center sooner rather than later, rasmussen's still only 22, and then there's a mitchell, ganger, and a couple other depth centers. i don't really see us having problems down the middle. i mean if veleno doesn't pan out and suter doesn't improve then yes, we'll need a 1c, but i dont see that happening so for now forsberg would be a great addition. we have the cap space to resign him (at least until raymond and seider need their deals) and he'd be a great addition as a relatively young, but still experienced forward on a what is a very young team. he'd also add a good amount of goals.

if boston, toronto, and the habs don't all collectively start being really good, and assuming the sabres return to being the sabres, we should be in the hunt. florida and tampa should run away with the top 2 spots, and then boston and toronto should both contend for 3rd, but neither team looks that great so far so who's to say.

The habs and sabres will fall but Toronto and Boston are far better than us. I wouldnt worry about them playing better id worry about us playing better. We're the ones on the loosing streak.

I think we see with Larkin out the last 2 games while we need another C. Suter, Rass, Veleno, Fabbri are all 3Cs at best. I think Rass may be the only one that sticks at C long term.

Why would we trade for Forsberg and give up a 1st and good D prospect when we have Vrana?
