I dont want wolf or valimaki. I would want a forward. I dont understand where the tkachuk stuff suddenly came from- my guess is whatever vegas was offering was just way better than a calgary package with monahan. Its not like tkachuk makes a ton more sense for us, we get him for this year on a team that is lacking a formidable center, and we can qualify him at 10 million next year, but then we either have to sign him (i have my doubts he will extend) or trade him. So bottom line, does flipping tkachuk this year or next, make THAT much difference in return over monahan, also this year or next?

1- we have a chance to sign & keep him
2- yes, i believe Tkachuk would get MUCH more in a trade than crappy Monahan would

So you'd rather take Monahan and get a 3rd for him than take Tkachuk and at minimal get a first and good prospect? Okay then.
