True that’s why McDavid only has 25 points in 18 games against Toronto and 41 points in 23 games against Winnipeg. They definitely have the secret to shutting him down. Maybe every team should have a dedicated “literally hold Connor McDavid after bribing the refs to not call a penalty” guy.

Also, since I wasn’t able to be online when Brady was announced as captain, first of all congratulations, but second of all this has been obvious for well over a year now. I would probably say 1-2 years, some might say it was going to happen as soon as he was drafted, but I don’t think Chabot being the captain was ever seriously entertained without the presumption that Tkachuk was gone. Chabot is a good leader and very worthy of the A he wears, but Tkachuk is the guy that “drags the team into battle” and leads by example, while being a powerful personality as well. He was always the best-suited player on the Sens to wear the C, and the second he signed with us long term, they might as well have announced it the same day. It was only delayed presumably so they could announce it the day before a home game that he is playing in and that takes place on a Saturday (like, his first game was a random Thursday against SJ a week and a half after he signed) and they might’ve thought that the Oct. 23rd game against the Rangers was too much of a rush. They’ll probably have a huge reveal announcement, highlight video, maybe presentation thing prepared for the game later today. So that explains the timing kinda, and also my thoughts on why it’s deserved, and why I think the people who were surprised and thought it would go to Chabot were off-base.

Yet he’s still getting played for every minute the Yotes can squeeze out of him. I’m hoping he can break out of this slump, fingers crossed his first point comes tonight?

I don’t think this year should even count for Chychrun, we know how good he is, they traded literally everyone but him, Kessel and Keller (with Kessel leaving by TDL). He’s on what could easily be the worst team in NHL history. He’s got a hall pass imo.
