This is mighty unfortunate for the sabres. It seems that everyone they've traded in the past year they've been ripped off almost every time... except for Risto surprisingly

Thinking it’s more a case of everyone inflates their players that may be of a quality.

If Buffalo took this offer I doubt the rumors of Calgary offering Tkachuk are true.

Vegas wins this without a shred of a doubt, but Tuch and Krebs are both great pieces. By the looks of things, Buffalo is trying to recreate the 2020 WJC Canada team

I hate to try and make this post about the Blackhawks during a time that the Blackhawks are a focus in the league for all the wrong reasons… but how did Seth Jones cost so much more than Jack Eichel?

Because he's better

As a flames fan I am amazed we didn't offer anything better. I am just in disbelief they didn't

Buffalo should have taken the NYR deal instead.

Lafreniere
Othmann
Gauthier
Kravtsov
Kakko
Chytil
Schnieder
Lundqvist
Miller
Fox

Is a much better package IMO. It was in everyone's armchair GM so it must be true.

I feel like a lot of people here believing that Vegas ripped Adams off here is severely underrating how valuable Tuch is.
A top six winger signed to a reasonable contract for his prime years, don't really see any other contending team willing to beat that offer for Eichel

It may have been true, if the Sabres were allowed to discuss an extension and he said no that may have killed the deal for them.

Man I feel bad for Sabres fans. After all the drama, this is a light return. I think people forget how good Eichel is. I'm confident he will go back to a top 10 player in the league. I'm not concerned about the surgery at all.

Krebs and Tuch are nice pieces but the 1st round pick is top 10 protected?? Come on and only 1 first?? Couldn't even get a 2nd and offsetting 3rds??! WHAT? They probably don't stay bottom 10 in the league so it won't matter but I hate the look. I'm a bit shocked Flames didn't have a better offer but I'm guessing Adams liked Krebs and Tuch too much. I hope Addams makes a good mid 20s pick 🙄

Honestly I could see Sabres refusing. It seems Tkachuk wants to walk himself to free agency and cash in big time. Wouldn't be smart for the Sabres to take that risk* *if he was offered

IMO the 1st round pick should have been retained by the Knights. Keep in mind all the negatives of this transaction: 1. Jack is still injured; 2. He's not playing the major part of this season; 3. We don't know if he'll be so good as before; 4. VGK cap space has been reduced by approx. $5 M

While I believe Vegas won the trade, I still think DeBoer is a worthless pile of manure and will accomplish nothing. He undervalued Tuch too much, placing him on the 3rd line for most of the time was tough.

There's just too many unknowns right now to say who won this deal. Return is definitely underwhelming but the Sabers were never going to get market value for Eichel. We won't really have a definitive answer on this trade until a year from now at earliest

How is this relevant? EVERYONE including myself who A.) likes Seth Jones B.) likes the Hawks said that was a bad trade.

What I find most interest about all of this are the conditions of the pick going to Vegas. I understand the conditions of the picks going to BUF. That happens all the time. Depending on how well the main piece of the trade affects the team.....the picks adjust accordingly. BUT Buffalo's pick going to Vegas depends on how well Vegas performs? I just find it interesting, that's all.
