Monahan flipped to third team for futures/picks
Dube
Zary
Ruzicka
1st
Conditional 2nd
Monahan - Never on the table, would leave in two years, been shopped up and down the league, nobody wants him. Buffalo would have to flip him not Calgary, if he's playing the way he is now why would they take that risk?
Dube - Serviceable piece but not Tuch and likely blocks prospects for playing time on the left side or down the middle.
Zary - not even close to Krebs and has a broken ankle.
Ruzicka is nothing in a deal
Even if the players above were a part of the deal after next season Buffalo is left with potentially an NHL'er in Zary but maybe not. Dube who is taking a roster spot from internal options, Monahan is gone, Ruzicka in Rochester, and picks that won't be in the NHL yet.
Vegas deal, they have Krebs, Tuch play in the NHL until 2026 at least, no doubt about it. That's roster control for 12 years, Calgary couldn't give that. Impossible deal to match,.
