While LA would love to have Sergachev, they're not going to trade Bjornfot or Anderson to get him. The entire reason they want him is because they're desperately short on LHD options. Sending out a LHD to get one back doesn't help them.

They'd include Roy, Walker, Faber, Grans, or Spence (really any RHD except Brandt Clarke)

Not even close for Sergachev, Detroit would blow away that offer to bring him to Detroit.

The Sergachev trade is a bit light, but the idea of moving him now before he.becomes overpaid to get a younger replacement, a much needed middle 6 option and a pick is well worth exploring. Perhaps Tampa moves Foote instead of Rutta to get a dman like Manson or another rental, but they need a piece there. Finally, Connor Brown is a huge upgrade over either "look I blew another grade A chance tonight" Joseph or Raddysh. It's a deal very comparable to the Coleman trade, and Tampa is going to need a better 3rd line if they want a chance this year. Tampa may not even be able to afford Sergachev in 2 years, and right now, based on their play, both Cirelli and Cernak are much more valuable to keep long term. If you think this team as is is even remotely good enough to win again, you're kidding yourself. Good thing JBB is willing to make moves when needed, as this year it certainly looks to be.

I realize the deal is light, but I believe moving him for a pick, younger LD or RD ready prospect and a middle 6 forward is something that could provide Tampa help both now and down the line.

Over reaction to a blip 12 points in 10 games constantly gets you in the playoffs. Then Vasy becomes Vasy Sergachev is 23 how much younger you need full stop on the stupid panicking. Don't want Manson. This ain't the one and done leafs. Kucherov has missed most of the games so far as has BOGO TB will be fime

This year in the Atlantic it could very easily not make top 3. Sergachev has shown stretches of what he could be, but also way too much lack of discipline and responsibility in his own end. He may improve in both areas, but considering he'll probably want 7 or 8 on his next deal in a year or two, not sure he is worth that at this point to the team when both Cirelli and Cernak will also be due solid raises. Tampa could restock the cupboard if they move him and improve the team offensively for this years run. It's not likely but it is also the.most realistic option of someone who could be moved to strengthen the middle 6, add picks/prospects, and bring in a cheaper, albeit less talented dman.

Ah, okay, well it seems based on most opinions I was considerably light on a Serg trade anyway. I'll have to re-evaluate that one, but the base idea of moving g Serg to gain middle 6 depth, a pick, and a young dman that could somewhat help out is the ideal target .

Make it Kempe, one of Faber/Grans, and a top 10 protected 1st.

I actually think these are all the right moves for TB at the moment, if they want to keep the contention alive. I guess I'm in the minority. They need to fill that 3rd line in after losing everyone this summer.

It hasn't happened this century stop besides it's a slow start . Sergachev isn't going anywhere. You're very much under evaluating Tampa Bay's kids. So no need to move to "improve the offense for years to come. Better to have the best defense corps in the league than a top forwards group which is is still better than most. Players seem to take less than market value to stay in TB . Point goes on open Market he easily surpasses Marner . Besides if it comes down to loosing Cirelli or Sergachev see ya Anthony. Foote isn't going anywhere he's got 37 NHL games everyone needs to just stop acting like he's this bust. He'll be fine. Brown trade isn't really like Coleman tell me one roster player that TB gave up for Coleman I'll wait....... You can't they didn't and certainly aren't giving up 2.. Coleman was Foote and a one .

Foote lacks the mobility to be anything more than a low end 4/5 type. It's apparent that this is something that isn't likely to get better, and thus his upside is limited. You seem very hung up on some idea that Tampa can't move roster players to improve, but yeah, that's not the case at all. Moving two, at best, 3rd line guys and a 1st to get a player like Brown is exactly what Tampa should try to do and upgrade. Without retention prolly just Joseph and the 1, but doubt they could make it work without the retention. Sergachev will want at minimum 7.25 on a long term deal, and again, don't think committing to him long term is necessarily the best move, especially not at the cost of losing the team's 2C or one of the dmen that are actually playing like a top 4 player right now(it's not Serge, that's for sure). It's all well and good that Tampa sacrificed all their offensive depth to keep a top 5 d-corp, but until something resembling that decides to show up, improvements on offense or swaps on defense should be considered

Not can't won't and shouldn't Joseph is very underrated here TB management thinks a lot more than most here . Yeah no one ever works on and becomes a better Skater🙄

Who are you a talent evaluator for? Because if you can tell a top picks ceiling after 37 NHL games surely someone hired you.

Not hard to see he has no first step, gets walked multiple times a game, and looks a fraction large on most things he does on the ice. He's had 4+ years of development, and the same concerns many had on draft day are still evident. Not saying he will be moved but he's 100% no longer a deal breaker in a trade that could improve the team.

Foote's had 4 years+ with some of the best skating coaches in the world...yeah if he was going to have a dramatic improvement ala Point it should've started.to show by now. Joseph is a fine PK/defensive guy, but he has little offensive finish. A player like Brown brings most of Joseph's.defensove abilities.and a whole lot more offense.

Maybe 3 years then, but he's just not a reliable, every game top 4 type with his many flaws. As a sheltered 3rd pair guy who can possibly approach lower 2nd pairing level, maybe, but he's much more of a liability when he's on the ice than an asset right now.

37 NHL games. Hedman was a liability at the 37game mark of his career as was Sergachev

Sergachev actually had a pretty good rookie year, while Hedman did take some time. However, neither of them had a fundamental issue as Foote does, that being he has no initial quickness getting into stride due to his skating problems and is therefore getting beat regularly when he's out there. He could improve still, but a mechanical issue like this that has been targeted and focused on as his weakness for several years now and still hasn't been fixed does.not bode well.

Sergachev was very sheltered and rotated game days in the press box. Granted it's only 2 games this year but he has been in the right position and looks good.
