Uh, no. Minnesota will keep their 3rd round pick instead of trading for a 7th d they don't need. Calen Addison will be back sooner than later. Might just be a 3rd round pick, but how is Minnesota giving up 3rd round pick for 7th d, cap dump in turn for 7th round pick? Under judd bracket, every pick has been important

Could be right. The trade was more to clear cap space at the margin for TB and acquire draft picks that they are lacking right now.

Id take Jokiharju right now over Cernak for the sabres future in terms of his age etc.

Yea, we also shouldn't be trading our only RD for another RD when our RD has great chemistry with our Franchise Dman. I love Cernak thou.

Not really, I didn't say Jokiharju is better than Cernak. I'm saying the sabres should offer other things like Ryan Johnson, or Isak Rosen. High level prospects, or maybe you NHLers like Routsalainen, Bjork, prospects and a couple picks.

Then we could rock instead of having No RD to go with Power or Dahlin.
Dahlin - Joki
Power - Cernak

You can only retain on 3 contracts. The miller one makes sense, might be overshooting a bit, but its not crazy. Butcher returning a 3rd might be crazy. Hinostroza is probably a 4th, but hes going to get a chance to boost his stats here until the deadline, maybe he plays his way into that. I think cernak gets more.

I quote " Id take Jokiharju right now over Cernak for the sabres future in terms of his age etc." Cernak is just 24

Oh, I thought for some reason Cernak was 2014 draft, my bad. Jokiharju is only 22 so I thought Cernak was 3 years older.
