Ha! You're not getting that for Smith. Everyone knows Vegas is over a barrel, they will make you pay to move cap.

I can see Smith ending up in WSH (with Mantha out) or TBL (with Kuch out) honestly. Maybe for a 2nd or 3rd. Maybe even ARI trades for him then flips retained to like COL?

Why does anyone have to go? In what world is Eichel a 10m cap hit? He's a LTIR for 70% of the season? Stone seems to be out for 2months, so he's not 9m cap hit.

Nobody is going to give a 2nd. Maybe some dummy would pay a 3rd. But probably not. It seems more likely they'll have to pay.

And the Avs don;t have cap for that.

Just for starters, Eichel says he'll be out about three months and try to play in the Olympics. So that would end that "only back for the playoffs" talk right there.

???? So. Doesn't really matter what Eichel "says". Recovery time is 3 months after the operation, and he hasn't had the surgery yet. He isn't going to the Olympics. Believe the first NHL game is Feb 24, so that's his two months till the end of the season. Yea, I don't know why so many folks, think if he ready for the playoffs...makes Eichel cap free. In theory every game of regular season played, it's a about 120,000 cap hit to Vegas.
