Yes, Eichel also thought he was going to be an Av at one point.

$2m for 5 years is a lot to retain -- can't see ARI or any other team considering that.

$2m for 5 years and that's all they get? If true, I bet they would've wanted more.

Barron is one of COLs top prospects and is expected to make the jump next year. Maybe a 2nd instead of a 4th but thats about it.

Retaining 2 million for 5 years costs atleast a 1st.

That would have been a good offer for buffalo

They weren't the ones retaining and yes we do. We get the same caliber prospect, a 1st and a 2nd and Girard instead of tuch. I wouldn't say it's better than Vegas offer, but it's not worse

I doubt Col made that offer - I think if Vegas starts crushing other teams we will start to hear about a bunch of fantastic deals that were offered to Buffalo that Buffalo for no reason rejected - LAK will put out a rumor that they offered Byfield, Turcotte, Clarke 2022 1st 2023 1st and just asked the Sabres for a 2024 7th and to retain $250,000 and KA rejected the offer and threatened to come down with a flamethrower.
