Campbell’s gonna get $1 mil more, Edmonton needs stability in net why would they go after a guy who’s inconsistent in the crease and hurt all the time. Vanecek at times is better than Samsonov so I doubt Washington would give him up for a 6-7th d man and Backlund is a very key piece to Daryl Sutter’s system in Calgary so I doubt they’d want to trade him, let alone with salary retention for two years. And I highly doubt New Jersey wants your junk in Nick Ritchie and Justin Holl, let alone give up actual assets for them.

Edmonton doesn't even consider that. If you have 2 injury prone goalies you're going to have a bad time.
