Team: 2021-22 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 7, 2021
Published: Nov. 7, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
CHI
  1. Miller, Joe [Reserve List]
  2. Ritchie, Nick
  3. Semyonov, Kirill
  4. 2022 2nd round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
Miller is to reflect a low B-C tier prospect. The 2nd is the real piece going back while the prospect is just to get the deal done. You can fill in any name that doesn't fit with the Amirov or Niemela's of the Leafs system.

Semyonov is just because he's stuck in the AHL which he probably didn't come from Russia to do. Dubas has a history of trading the Russians who come over to teams where they can get NHL ice time. I don't know if thats Chicago for Semy or not, if it's not just act like he's not there.

Ritchie goes to make the cap work.

Strome isn't very good. And he's slow as hell.

Meanwhile he's generating more offensive opportunities for the Blackhawks than Patrick Kane, at least when he's not stuck on a 4th line that isn't suited to his play.

At this point I just want to see Strome free. So unfortunate how JC was treating him

And? The Hawks suck, being good on a bad team doesn't mean you'll be better on a much better team. He wouldn't make the Leafs.

100% agreed. For an analogy....it's like TOR saying hey, let's go put Tavares, Matthews, Sandin, and Dermott on the PK! That would be stupid. AND for a moment let's pretend Matthews would be good at the PK...it's still not utilizing his best talents. It's him expending lots of effort and not using his lethal snipe. Put your players in positions for success. No one did that for Strome on the Hawks...except when he scored 51 points in 58 games

With the right coach he could produce big numbers

He says about the guy outscoring Nick Ritchie while on that horrible team. Clearly you have a poor understanding of just how unproductive the Leafs depth is.

Strome would be a fantastic addition for the Leafs. Start him on the 3rd line and he could definitely work his way up.

Lmao. He's immediately the best Leafs forward outside of the big 4 if this trade happens.

Strome is a good player but this is too much to give. I think just Semyenov or Miller would be enough cuz Hawks have no leverage.

Hawks have the leverage to keep a good player now that Colliton is gone

Maybe but he hasn’t played much in the past 2 seasons. I think just getting a prospect back is enough.

There are always injuries. But at a full time I think the Leafs are best with Mikheyev at LW and Kerfoot returned to 3C. No need for a trade

Kerfoot doesn't exactly have a history of being very productive when playing anywhere that isn't with Nylander.

It's the chicken and the egg. What comes first? Kerfoot having just average 3rd line wingers, or Kerfoot being better stats wise when he's a second line winger or centre.
Long term, I don't know if Kampf and Spezza are guys you depend on for two centre position.s Heck the Leafs are 24th in goals for per game. Who is being that productive offensively now?

Strome isn't a heavy hitting power forward. He's a skilled guy who isn't fast enough to keep up. He wouldn't make the leafs because he doesn't do anything they actually need.

According to you, everyone on the leafs sucks though. He wouldn't make the leafs. He wasn't good getting top 6 minutes in Arizona and has failed in Chicago. He's a first round bust.

And according to you the Leafs mediocre bottom six players are better than any external option.

Not any external option. Certainly better than bubble players on bottom feeding teams.
