You know, I went into this post going "Hmmm. I don't like any of these trades for LA, and I don't think they'll be competing for Shane Wright."

Then I got to the Toronto trade, and was like "Oh, that's because it must be a Leaf fan posting it." Sure enough, clicking on your profile showed how right I was. It's tiresome how predictable you lot are.

Kings. Don't. Want. Dermott. Period. Full stop. And they're not giving you a top-6 player for essentially free.

If the Kings win the lottery and grab Wright, can the Hawks bring Turcotte home to Chicago for a sandwich and a bag of pucks?

JAD at least is worth the 2nd they paid for him, he’ll be back up.

Byfield isn’t going to be moved even if the Kings get first overall, if anyone it would be Vilardi, and even then I don’t see why they need to rush him out.

Kempe is looking great and Dermott could be got for a 4th.

Very poorly weighted trades for the Kings here.

Judging by how the ACGM weighted Kings players, half a sandwich would be sufficent

I'd be really curious to see what other people thought on that, because I'm a biased Kings fan. I was thinking the opposite because I'm not a huge fan of Power's potential ceiling. I think Byfield ends up the more valuable player over the term of their careers. Granted, I don't think the "+" is a lot from either side, but that's an intriguing trade idea. Not that I'd do the trade regardless, because I am really enjoying watching Byfield progress. But fun food for thought.

The Dermott trade is bad, but I wouldn't go as far to say that the Kings don't won't Dermott "full stop". He would be a good add for the Kings awful left side D

I agree with the original post that Power>Byfield at this point just in terms of value.

Byfield has the higher projected ceiling, but there is some injury concern, I’d still stick with Byfield.

Dermott isn’t an improvement from Edler or Maata, kings need to pay for a suitable top-4 LD, Dermott isn’t it.

Awful left side D? It's just young. When fully healthy (meaning Drew and Sean are back and LA can put Bjornfot back on the left side), Anderson, Bjornfot, and Edler are fine set of defense for where we are at in the rebuild. And they're only getting better.

Anderson > Dermott now
Bjornfot > Dermott soon, and permanently
Clague = Dermott down the road
Edler = Dermott now, if not better

Yeah whatever, the only thing I want LAK to do, is if Eichel in Vegas rips them up I don't want to see stories where the LAK made huge beautiful offers for Eichel - LAK were offering like their 4th best prospect and third line players and draft picks protected from being the least bit good.

I was going to say, I didn't think we'd be able to get JAD that easily...

You wouldn't haha. It's just OP's way to hope to hide his terrible Toronto trade as he looks for validation on thinking they can give up Dermott and get back Kempe.

But I will not be distracted!
