If Ottawa is not going to be up against the cap next year, spending any assets to dump Zaitsev doesn't make any sense.

A better solution would be to either bury Zaitsev in the minors or just buy him out entirely.

I also don't think Zaitsev is worth that much to buy out. I feel you could at least get a 5th (from Vancouver, Colorado or LA...) for Zaitsev half retained.

He also doesn't;t have JDB in his line up?
The Giroux pick up would be a good one, he is a stop gap until one of the prospects can take that top 6 RW position, however with the way the Flyers are playing rn I don;t see him moving.

I think we let JBD and Thomson fight for a spot. Giving JBD more time in the AHL wouldn’t be a bad idea

Norris will get a 6 year deal so Chabot, Brady, Norris will all end their contract in the same year thus guaranteeing that they will be traded they year prior to their contracts ending, stating a brand new rebuild in 5 years

I wanna move Zaitsev, but we need to see Dorion be smart and try to move him without giving up too much. There's gm's like Benning out there, try and fleece someone for once Dorion and stop getting ripped off.

I really want to see OTT retain a little on Colin White and move him, or just buy him out. His days of fitting into our top 6 will be over by next year and that money could be used elsewhere. Kadri would be a great 3rd line pivot and I'm not entirely sold on that right side D group but I know it's slim pickings unless we look outside the NHL. I posted one earlier that had us grabbing Jesse Blacker who seems to have figured it out in the KHL. It's a risk, but so was Zub...
