😮The 2023 draft is sooo loaded.

Also Yager bombs is a great call 😂

Matvei Michkov (KHL)
Adam Fantilli (USHL)
Dalibor Dvorsky (J20)
Brayden Yager (WHL)
Zach Benson (WHL)
Leo Carlsson (SHL)
Lukas Dragicevic (WHL)
Calum Ritchie (OHL)

Anyone with the name Yegor works pretty well too, like Chinakhov

15. Toronto.. okay I guess.
14. San Jose..? now this is odd imo.

I mean I find those odd..

Buffalo, LA, ANA, MIN, CAR, DET, Devils, CBJ def have the top spots down but.

HOW IS PHILLY STILL ON THE BOARD HELLO? Alfie11 cant wait for philly to be in the top 10.

Edit: Oh wait

Philly is #13.

Wheeler has to be droolling over Brink and York my god.

I can’t wait for Sanderson to win the Norris, York to top out as a 2nd pair PP specialist, and Brink to be the next Bracco. What a joke. The Flyers prospect pool is objectively less talented AND less deep than the Senators, Sharks, and Rangers. It’s got less high end talent than the Flames, Leafs, and Oilers, and the only team where its depth is slightly better is the Oilers imo. The fact that he’s high on York is fine, he could be very good. I’m not sold on Brink or Zamula (I for real think Brink could just be a good AHLer and Zamula is probably a 3rd pair guy, at least within the foreseeable future) so maybe that’s where the big difference is, but that just seems like he’s asking to be bitten. They maybe shouldn’t have been 23rd or wherever I had them, but I honestly can’t say they’ve been close to better than a single team since the Oilers, putting them in 18th at best.

So Leafs apparently eyeing/trying to sign OHL Goalie

Mack Gudza

So far all I know is hes big and 11-2 in the OHL

Hes 21 though but as I preach patience with goalies can reap rewards (i.e. Campbell)

Kind of strange we want another goalie considering we have Kallagren/Woll who are slated to be our potential backups in the coming years

Keith Petruzzelli (AHL/ECHL Deal)

KHL goalies (Akhtyamov and Peksa)

And Ian Scott who just cant stay healthy (Sad as I liked him when he was in the WHL)

What a night for the Habs prospect. There have been some unbelievable goalie performances this season.

Small update: Ducks 2021 2nd Round Pick Olen Zellweger now leads all WHL Defenseman in points (29-8-30-38) and PPG (1.31, 2nd highest among D is Ben Sloty with 1.06). His PPG ranks 15th among all skaters.

Looks like a steal already and he doesn't turn 19 until September.

I always liked Zellweger, he was one of my favourite 2021 picks, had him around 30-33 I think

Bobby, what the f*ck. Can you maybe not light up your teammate in his first full practice returning from a multi month injury?

If he were born a week later, he'd likely be a 2022 Top 10 pick.

Every morning I check if the Habs are listed in Wheeler's prospects pool rankings (he's releasing it daily), and it's still not released so they're top 10.

What is your favorite "under the radar" (I'm thinking someone outside of round 1 and 2 than hasn't gotten much media coverage) prospect that isn't in your favorite team's system?

Mine would be Alex Laferriere, as I have liked what I saw from him in Des Moines last year.

I loved Matvei Petrov, Pastujov, Szovil are also good options ( with varying degrees of media coverage ), Samuel Knazko, Ty Angle are also up there

Erik Portillo, Goalie, Buffalo Sabres. 3rd round pick in 2019, doing a pretty damn good job as the starter at the University of Michigan, with a 2.20 GAA and 0.926 SV% in 29 games. Don't see too many people talking about him.

Also, bonus points because his last name is the same as the name of a restaurant chain primarily in Chicago. Portillo's is to DIE FOR, and i would highly recommend it if you find yourself in Chicago. They aren't hard to find in town: there's like 4 of them in the Chicago metro area, and one in almost every suburb.

Damn shame he isn’t getting recognition. I would guess it’s because he’s getting Overshadowed by Levi, but if I was a Sabres exec I would be excited for their goaltending future. Levi, Portillo, and UPL all look decent right now.

As for the restaurant, I don’t foresee being in Chicago anytime soon but I might be going to Indianapolis for the Indy 500 so if there is one in Indianapolis I’ll definitely keep it in mind.

Edit: just googled it and holy cow that food looks good.

Even though he hasn't really increased his production from his draft year, a guy that I had my eye on heading into last years draft was James Malatesta, a CBJ 5th rounder. He's small, but doesn't shy away from the physical side of the game and has a non-stop motor; seems like a nuisance to play against. Kinda reminds me of Gourde. It's not so much that I think he's underrated or a huge steal or anything, but he's an intriguing prospect.
