2021 NHL Draft Prospects that are performances so far (1st round only)

Exceeding draft position
Cole Sillinger (12): 15 points in 39 NHL Games
Jesper Wallstedt (20): 0.920, 1.95 GAA in SHL
Wyatt Johnston (23): 65 points in 35 OHL games

Underperforming draft position
Tyler Boucher (10): 3 points in 18 games NCAA/OHL
Isak Rosen (14)L 4 points in 28 SHL games
Nolan Allen (32): 18 points in 36 WHL games

I wouldn't exactly put Sillinger as overperforming draft position, I look at upside and I'd only draft him over Boucher out of the players who went before him but yes, that he has made the NHL is spectacular. Wallstedt isn't surprising and neither is Boucher or Allen. Rosen was supposed to be better ( points don't show the full picture for prospects but that seems super low for someone of his prospect calibre ) and Johnston wasn't looking like a good pick but he's done well

He is going to become a better version of Seguin, you just wait.

He was projected to be a 2nd round pick. I have 0 idea what Ottawa was doing. Every pick they used was off the board.

Boucher got injured in his 5th shift, of his first game, with the Ottawa 67’s the other night.

Sooooo….. lol.. the next “Tom Wilson” is coming along nicely lol.

He will be pretty good when he is 26 and starts to calm down

The World Juniors is officially taking place in August per Darren Dreger.

No major changes (ex: if you become an overager by august but was a player for the tournament then your fine).

However many teams GMs are reluctant to comment because August is just before the September NHL camps which are big for prospects like Sanderson, Eklund, McTavish, etc. We could see some major roster changes come summer.

Boucher isnt my pick for the next Tom Wilson; and I don’t know how well Boucher is gonna pan out already dealing with injury trouble (multiple injuries in the last couple years I believe)

What’s considered the next Tom Wilson. A bruiser that is also very skilled and durable that isn’t the smartest hitting wise?

Draft-eligible players are getting shafted, there's not much point for them to play anymore unless they need exposure, like Shane Wright will be already drafted and it's so early in the next season that it won't "affect" his full-season play perception, there's almost no point for him to go unless he wants to show off some more

With the Devils completely falling off a cliff this year, I'm just looking towards the draft now
Who should the Devils draft?
Looks like the Devils will get a pick between the 4-8 range
Some names I've seen the Devils take in mock drafts are Kemell, Nemec, Slafkovsky, or Jiricek

We’ll just off the top of my head, the Devils need RD so hope Nemec is still at your spot or Jiricek

Let's assume the Top 3 is Wright, Cooley, Savoie (as it should be). If available you take Nemec in the 4-8 range. If he's not on the board anymore after 4, Kemell. If he isn't there, they should take one of Slafkovsky, Yurov, Jiricek and Lambert if you simply go BPA. What's the Devils biggest need that they should conquer through the draft? Or is there a specific player type that would fit well?

Every morning I check if the Habs are listed in Wheeler's prospects pool rankings (he's releasing it daily), and it's still not released so they're top 10.

Dallas & (surprisingly) Carolina have fallen. The Habs remain in the top 8.

I'm kinda impressed, since Caufield should have graduated by Wheeler's standards.
