I can't see why Columbus would make that trade. Toronto would have to add draft picks, probably a 1st.

I wouldnt say "easily" Domi is a UFA at years end and kerfoot and Holl both have term. Kerfoot pt totals are in a similar range to Domi. Its most certainly not an easily declined deal. Hell kerfoot could get a 2nd round pick on his own.

Kerfoot gets a 2nd on his own. Low 1st or high second is the value i have on Domi. Kerfoot is a step below domi value but not by much

Kerfoot with term is worse than Kerfoot without term. CBJ have more depth forwards than they know what to do. with especially with Johnson and Marchenko coming next year. The return for Domi if traded (hopefully) wont be a player, let alone two

Lol, Domi is a solid top 6 center/winger, Kerfoot is a 3c and Holl is losing his ice time, CBJ doesn't entertain that offer unless it has actual good pieces in it

I’ve seen like a billion Kerfoot to CBJ trades, and it has me wondering: How did the idea that Columbus wants Kerfoot get into your heads? We already have more Bottom-6 forwards than we know what to do with (Hofmann, Robinson, Kuraly, etc.), why would we want to make that problem worse?

I think you over estimate Kerfoot's value.

I could see them holding Domi until TDL, and if he doesn’t fit their plans and they are out of contention, then trading him for most likely pick(s).
The reality in Columbus is that the Jackets have so many young and talented players coming up, they will need to find slots for them very soon. They have drafted very well lately.
Chinakhov appears to be a gamer, Hofmann also is showing signs of sticking around. Bemstrom, Texier, Robinson, etc.
Next year Johnson & Marchenko try to win a spot.
Heck, they can’t even get Foudy into the lineup now.
So I don’t see Jackets making a trade like this now.
And who knows, Domi was starting to find his game and scoring touch, he may just stay around beyond this year.

Then why did Seattle pass on Domi in favour of... nobody?

because Domi was projected to be out till December/January but recovered quicker than expected, Seattle also made a bunch of weird choices

You'd have to ask Seattle. They passed on several players that they probably should have picked up.
