Collin Miller could be had for a Third or a Fourth, but the problem is that the Sabres have no RHD to replace him with.

No less than a 2nd for Leddy, but he’s been decent in Detroit. Likely a TDL guy to be on the move but the Habs don’t look like buyers for then

that's it? i thought he'd get more then that, especially at the deadline.

I kind of doubt it because he is a rental, they might get a conditional second but I would be surprised.

ya the idea would be to get him now and flip him at the deadline. need someone to get the puck to the forwards. habs are stacked on the wings but no one to send it up ice.

can't develop the forwards if they can't get the puck. older guys and one year deals use them till the deadline then flip then. younger and multi year deals keep them for now.

Zub is not available outside of some ludicrous overpayment that would make no sense. They can't replace him, and they can't afford to be without him. He's a hugely important part of any long term success this team might ever have.

Doubt Toronto would be willing to move Liljegren at this point. He's finally made his way into the NHL and looks at home in what is really his rookie season. Its whats made either Dermott or Holl available.

If Ristolainen is worth the first round pick and a supposed rental in Hagg without any salary retention Miller is worth at least a 2nd with retention. In fact he’s better defensively so he might be worth a first himself. As right handed shooting defenseman are worth their weight in gold suddenly maybe they don’t even want to trade him, they might give him an extension.

No reason to trade Zub to Montreal though as we need him even more than they do. I'd take their 1st in one of the next 2 drafts for sure but they would be just really crazy to do that

Really the only player I'd consider making a trade around Zub (and add) to Montreal is Nick Suzuki

I'd rather have Zub long term than Romanov

I'd like Toffoli and/or Petry as stop gap veterans but not at Zub's expense.

I wouldn't target Caufield, Sens will be more than fine on the wings

I wouldn't target Ghule as well as he is LD

No need for Primeau with Gustavsson, Sogaard and Merilainen

Really not much to target from Montreal

    This

My point behind "Starting bid is a 1st round pick" was that there were worse defencemen than Zub that have been sold off for a 1st round pick.

And that either teams offer at least a 1st round pick for Zub as a "starting bid" or he's not for sale.
