Only a huge lack of research or a weird bias against Rathbone could possibly produce an offer like that he really is so good and so cost controlled, A asset ⭐

Then the second deal also seems to undervalue a young asset with Mittelstadt hitting 0.5 pts/g last season very unlikely the Van 2nd becomes better

My esteemed friend @Radu47 is right -- Rathbone has a bright future -- but DesLauriers and Grant are "niche" players for us and maybe it's just inertia, but I'm loath to move them even if we're getting slightly the better of the deal because we'll still have to work the two new guys into the existing squad and I think that Dickinson is kinda redundant at either bottom-6 C or LW even if we lose D and G.

Why are you making these trades bad for Vancouver?
I'd say Grant and Deslauriers for just Dickinson, but that might be the only trade with the close value.
You can take out Poolman and Chiasson in the 2nd deal (unless you want to get rid of them)
Make the 5th Chicago's and not yours.
Make the 4th Dallas' and not yours.

Poolman and Chaisson are worthless and the Sabres never gave up on Mittelstadt and Hagg has been decent

Are you insinuating Hägg, and Mittelstadt are worth only a second?
Poolman is older and marginally better than Hägg.
Over the last three seasons Casey has 31 pts over 72 games, Chiasson has 43 over 120, 0.43 and 0.36 pts/gm respectively.
A younger Casey is improving Alex (9 years older) is regressing.
Buffalo is in a rebuild why would they trade the better player for an older one for merely a 2nd?
I think you could take out Hägg, and Mittelstadt then it may be closer.
