Trading the (sorta) "unwanted players"!

Created by: Mr_cap
Team: 2017-18 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 16, 2017
Published: Mar. 16, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Reason for Draisaitl signing:

Getting him and Connor is comparable to Sid and Geno.
People might say he's getting a boost from Connor but in 2006, Geno played a lot on Sid's wing as well.

Plus signing him now means that it will run right through his offensive prime. It can become a huge steal - similar to the Tavares contract.

Those are all awful for the Oilers. Eberle in his worst is worth more than Gaborik. So the Oilers do their division rivals a favour by not only giving them an upgrade at RW. But they also get to take Gaboriks buyout penalty. Doesn't sound right to me...

It makes no sense to sell Nuge at his absolute lowest point for an inconsistent player in Strome. Snow already fleeced Chia once, don't think Chia would want a repeat.

Brutal trade for Ebs. Oilers buy out contract and pay big money (+$3mil) so ya that's garbage. Hartnell is having a good year so BJ's say no as they laugh.

Kempe is an absolute stud. I think you are missing the point with this one.

Inconsistent? Well if you're talking about that, then might as well throw Nuge in there as well. Those players are pretty equal. Nuge isn't really good on the wing. Oilers get an upgrade on the wing for McD.

You are also missing the point on this one. Kempe is the main piece. A top prospect. Money would have to go back towards Edmonton so they receive Gaborik. Maybe buy him out, maybe not.

Why would they laugh? Hartnell is 34. Has an NMC. They have to protect him, leaving Anderson exposed. They receive a player of a similar contract. Also a 6th. In no way shape or form is that laughable. Please look at the whole part of the 'story' rather than comment about the thorn that sticks out.
