Giving up an a 1st overall pick after 70 games is not a thing that's gonna happen.

I know, the value is tough to judge with not a lot of games played. Girard with Fox would be terrorizing. Lafreniere could learn from a great captain like Landeskog and model his style.

Im not watching every game, but everyone I watched Lafreniere was very quiet, what do you think of his play?

the rangers are flush with d-prospects and need more centers. don’t see them moving laf at all, but especially not for a defenseman.

Avs wouldn't do that because Lafreniere isn't a proven scorer yet. He's got a lot of potential but the Avs are in win-now mode and would only consider moving Girard for a younger proven scorer who also plays defensively responsible and is on a reasonable contract with term. I know that sound unicorny but there's no reason for the Avs to trade Girard unless they get something really, really good in return.

IMO, I believe the Rangers are at fault that Lafreniere, Kakko and Kravtsov are playing the way they are right now.

Adam Fox (even IF he was ready before 2019, can't deny that spending 3 years to develop is good) and KAndre Milller are different because they spent 3 years and 2 years respectively of development in the NCAA.

dont forget about Lias Andersson, same story jumping into the NHL right after he is drafted, yoyoing around with AHL, NHL, and loaned to Europe transactions. Clearly they dont have the patience or plan in place for 18 year olds to make the team and develop in the NHL, they really need to review what they are doing bc clearly developing in the NHL does not work for them
