Dulcair is like so many others. A decent player and if given time with the right players can produce. However it's the guys he's with that are making the impact. Overvaluing people based off small sample sizes or when they do great with actual stars. This is where mistakes are made

Again, I completely get your POV. I just think it's important to look at both sides of the coin here

His shooting percentage is 30%

I said on-ice sh%, not sh%. They're two different stats.

He could score 30, sure. However, until the sample size is larger, it's hard to say what he is.

i agree but when i responded to this trade i saw him as a Vrana type player not some 60g 100p guy.

Look friend. The reality is, Anaheim isn't shopping Terry. End of story. Now we can talk about what a player is worth but it's a ridiculous exercise on this site. As I have said it's all blown way out of proportion. Terry has never performed like this. So to say his value is massive is just silly. Dulcair had a ridiculous hot streak and people on here felt he was worth millions of dollars and massive packages to obtain. 2 seasons later he's once again a 3rd liner.

Terry has been a really good player. He was the Ducks best player last season. The only thing that kept him from really breaking out was point production. But he is just amazing in the defensive zone and in transition. He was already far better than a 3rd liner prior to this season. But I agree: he isn't available because it's simply impossible to predict anything right now. A package could either be considered far too much or not even close in let's say a year or two.

It's the wrong coin entirely though. Terry could be blossoming into something special. Or he'll return to normal and be an effective if unspectacular player. Even if the Ducks collapse, which is very possible, and sell everything they can, Terry is the right age to keep so why would they move him?

Doesn't matter, his shooting percentage will not stay this high for long. It just won't, never does.

One hot streak does not make a guy a super hero. Everyone needs to settle down.

As I said, no one thinks it will. "Not even the most optimistic Ducks fans think he'll keep up this pace."

Nobody thinks he's a super hero or anything. I only said that he's been really good before this season already. He wasn't worth spare parts before this season and his value obviously increases if he continues to produce points (not at this pace, but at a higher pace than last season). I just don't understand why you'd say that small sample sizes don't show how good a player is when talking about Terry. Because he was already a really good player last season.
