Isles can make better use of those assets. Chiarot isn't even the type of LD we need.

I don't think they're good enough to make the Playoffs anyway. They're out of the playoffs presently. Greene and Chara are too old.

To get into the playoffs and sign Chiarot immediately. Just like when they acquired JG Pageau

I would want the Pens to take that run. But I hate the under 5’10, midget hockey players. Even the ones feisty defensively like Gallagher. And 6 years of Gallagher at 6.5M. Ouch.

And Matheson’s contract and term is tough for a 2nd/3rd pairing LHD too But he still scores and is good offensively. Look at his stats. He got that contract for a reason. And he is fast as hell. Faster skater on the Pens.

He’s just suspect defensively. Makes too many defensive mistakes in his own end and joins the rush way too much. Leaves the other D-man and goalie out to dry.

He needs to be paired with a stay at home D-man all the time. It’s why him and Marino didn’t work out great. And why Pettersson/Marino does work. And why Matheson/Ceci worked.

I know it’s easy to nitpick and microscope peoples posts on here, but I do want to point out if you take Matheson from Pittsburgh, you have edmundson, matheson and Romanov locked in on left side, thus closing the door to Norlinder, Guhle, Harris, struble and one if not 2 of them are good enough to play in the NHL.

As much as I would be a fan of moving Matheson; I would hate taking on Gallagher and his contract/term.

Players have to develop in the AHL at least one two
maybe three years.

Chiarot is not moving the needle enough to make the playoffs in your scenario. And again, he is not the type of LD the Isles need. They have to acquire a offensive minded puck mover. Gostisbehere and Dermott are better examples of that and will cost less than what you're showing here. More expensive pieces are Lindholm, Giordano or Girard. I'd happily pay a little more for any of them over a 2nd and Wilde for Chiarot

Yes I know that but Guhle will not be 3 years in AHL. I would simply pass on this then.

I dont see it on here, so I'ḿ gonna say it: Canes don't need a center. That's why kk is playing wing.

Dvorak is a better player right now at a smaller cap hit Carolina is a Stanley Cup contender right now. Dvorak had played wing before.

Edmonton has guys in the minors that will eat Kulak's lunch for half the cost, they aren't spending a 3rd on him.
