Incorporating feedback from both sides

Description
I put out a couple feelers on a JTM to Colorado trade. The starting point was Compher, Ranta, and a first, which I figured might not be enough but threw it out there to get the conversation started. Canucks fans wanted Barron and no Compher. Avs fans said no way to Barron and actually wanted to keep Compher.

Here is what I'm thinking now after digesting the feedback from both Vancouver and Colorado fans. Additional criticism is always welcome.

-Retention would be necessary if Compher is not going to Vancouver, so I went that direction here. Based on critiques, it seemed like both sides might okay with the retention option. This surprised me a bit, but I went with the feedback.

-Due to insistence from Avs fans, I did not include Barron. However, I did add different RHD prospect in Helleson. He doesn't have the offensive upside of Barron, but he's a very solid and steady defensive prospect that could potentially pair well with Hughes in the not too distant future. He played well at the WJC and has also continued his solid play at BC. While not a puck mover per se, he does that well enough, which when combined with his positioning and defensive mindedness makes for a nice package.

-Because I wouldn't give up Colorado's top defensive prospect, I upgraded at forward from Ranta to Olausson. This guy looks like he might be a good one. From the second he came to North America, he has done nothing but impress. Dude looked very good in preseason and is leading Barrie in both goals and points.

-Add a first to the above and it's my belief that Vancouver is getting some good value here. Is it enough? I'm not sure, but I tried to find a spot that seemed reasonable considering the feedback.

Another option might be Barron, Kaut and a first, but like I said, Barron was a pretty big no from the Avs fans I spoke to. I took liberty on Olausson and think I may receive similar backlash here. We'll see though.

Losing Olausson + Helleson + 1st hurts but Miller with retention for 2 cup runs is huge

Ideally Id like to give up less than this but at the end of the day I think this is pretty fair

My thoughts exactly. Olausson especially I could see really hurting if he reaches his potential. But it might hurt more to look back and realize they wasted MacKinnon discount years.

Yeah, it's a price worth paying

That offer might get you Miller with no retention but if you want Van to eat money it’s gonna cost more than that

I wanted to just include Compher in the trade and not have any retention (see description) and was surprised at the response from other Vancouver fans who preferred retention instead. What would your thought be about taking Compher?

Thoughts on the alternate trade in the last line of the description?

I don't think Colorado does both Barron and Helleson. Barron and Behrens maybe.

If Colorado was willing to do compher Barron a 1st and another b level prospect or like a 2nd I’d be okay with it I think

I think that is in the neighborhood. I had Barron, Kaut, and a first in the description. I'd rather retention than Compher, but I probably wouldn't hold up a trade because of that.

Thanks for the feedback.

Highly unlikely the Avs give up both Barron & Helleson. Two highly touted young RHD prospects. Not gonna get them, even for a guy like Miller.

Personally not a trade I'd do. I wouldn't be happy to give up Barron or Olausson as much as I realise it might take one or the other. I do understand people saying about not doing it and then regretting the MacK discount years though.
