Ottawa declines.

Connor Brown is worth what Tampa paid New Jersey for Blake Coleman, if not more so.

This doesn't cut it.

Changed the trade a bit added Lavoie and a 2nd
Lavoie is similar to Foote as he's a solid B tier prospect with potential because of his size

Ottawa is looking to add to their top 9, not trade away members of it for cap dumps and futures

I'd be tempted to say yes to this.

Ottawa, as an organization, declines because "the rebuild is over". Apparently, Ottawa is done selling off assets for futures. I imagine that Connor Brown is part of the long term plans unless a significant offer is made.

Brown would be a very nice addition for the Oilers but they would likely have to make additional sacrifices in order to fit him under the salary cap. While contracts for Russell, Sceviour, and Koskinen come off the books at the end of this season, they all need to be replaced. Further, Shore will come off the LTIR eventually. Puljujarvi may be due a three-fold increase in pay, perhaps more, and Yamamoto could be due a significant raise as well. The depth forwards and defenders are all on bargain contracts so there probably won't be much, if any, cap savings when McLeod is resigned, if Benson is resigned, and if Holloway and one of the LHD prospects make the team next season. One of three things would have to happen in order to make the acquisition of Brown work.

The Oilers would have to move another contract. Considering the way the team distributes its payroll, Tyson Barrie and Zack Kassian seem to be the two players that would make the most sense for the Oilers to move. All other players are either too important to the roster, carry salaries that would not clear enough cap space, or have contracts that would be too difficult to move. Personally, if I had to chose between them, I'd rather see Barrie traded and frankly his contract is probably closer to real value than Kassian's.

Hard-ball the RFAs and hope for a team-friendly deal that leaves enough cap space. I'm not sure this would be a wise approach.

Run with Smith and Skinner or Konovalov as the goaltending tandem, or sign a veteran goaltender for roughly $2M. This would be a significant gamble and likely to cost the Oilers in the long run.

1st, 2nd, prospect is good for Connor Brown

I would take it if UNFORTUNATELY Ottawa trade him instead of extending him. They need quality vets, they don't have nearly enough, which is their main problem right now (outside of being healthy)

That being said, Turris won't be back in the Ottawa organization as long as Eugene Melnyk is the owner. Bridges are burnt

Massive overpay for a guy who has hit 40 points just once in his career. And that was on the Sens where he gets tons of offensive opportunities that he would on Edmonton's 3rd line.
