Players who are available if we blow it up

Created by: The_Rocket

Description
Split it into 2 groups. Players who may he. Some value on the market, vs players who likely have negative value or would require taking a contract back.

Personally I don’t want to see most of these payers go, but I think if they fire management and blow it up, several of these guys could be gone

I'd like Boeser in Calgary but I doubt I like the price

Why would Boeser and Horvat be on the list of available players

Not too sure Dickinson would be someone with positive value. He's paid too much for what he delivers and has term under that contract.

Double down on what he said^

Why would VAN get rid of Boeser and Horvat??

I think Green and Benning have to get fired. Gotta go. Lockerroom is so stale
On top of that, if they can get out from Myers and Poolman contract, it would help alot

Only one team would take that OEL contract. Him and a 2nd to AZ for Beagle. Lol.

I'd only trade Boeser if he's not willing to sign a long term deal. Trading Horvat and Miller should happen tho

Interesting. I was wondering how the current (or future) management would evaluate those 3 if they felt they should deal one of them for blueline help and/or futures/cap space. Miller is probably the most valuable on the ice right now, and at his age it would make sense to move him over Boeser.

I think most GMs would value Horvat more than Miller. I would deal both Horvat and Miller for futures. If you can Newhook+ from Colorado for Horvat I'd be all over that

I don't entirely disagree with dealing both of them, but it would definitely signal that they're still deep in the rebuild. I could see dealing one and still trying to compete though.

Quite simply it’s due to contract status. Bo Horvat has one year left after this and then he is a 28 year old FA.

Brock Boeser can sign a 7.5 million dollar qualifying off and then is one year away from FA.

Given their contracts, it would be very tough to retain them to reasonable cap hits while going through another rebuild. Similar aged players like Garland or Demko have long term contracts so it’s easier to retain them going forward and doesn’t make sense to trade them. Ditto Hughes.

Pettersson, hoglander, Podkolzin are all no brainers to retain given their ages.

I think if they trade one, they have to trade both. Any trade of a core player is signalling a rebuild imo

You don't need a rebuild just a retool. Correct the dumb mistakes Benning has made and get a coach who doesn't suck. What I think will happen though is Benning will fire Green and bring in some bad choice like Babcock and then you'll have to rebuild when that doesn't work.

Yeah I’m not saying the Canucks SHOULD rebuild. But I’m saying that if they do, these are the pieces of the core they would look to shed

I know it’s unrealistic but I like boeser and would love to see him in Nashville. What would y’all want from Nashville to move boeser here
