Trade Deadline

Created by: Scanz
Team: 2021-22 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 16, 2021
Published: Nov. 16, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Move the players who will bring back any value. Stock up on as many picks as possible. A lot of unmovable deals really prevents for a lot of flexibility at the deadline. Bring Caufield back up to allow him to continue to develop chemistry with Suzuki, less pressure with playoffs essentially already written off. Keep Perreault for leadership qualities, and may not even be able to play again this season due to his procedure. See what you have in Niku. Byron, Edmundson, Price will all come back around Christmas time, which may prevent team from actually tanking and securing a top 4 pick, but keeps the culture intact. Pezzetta, Belzile deserve to be with the team, but will have a tough time cracking the lineup with all the healthy bodies back. Norlinder not actually scratched, just sent back to Sweden.

I think kulak is a given to be moved also. Perreault too.

Chiarot is the only guy that can potentially return a LATE 1st, if they're lucky with a desperate team.

No team is trading down from a 1st for Lehkonen. A 3rd at best.

Lehkonen maybe gets a 2nd if MTL retains and includes a late pick but that’s still a maybe

I’ve seen Chiarot go for anything from the 1st and 3rd like here to a 4th. Seems like a large disparity in his value. Don’t see how he returns what is offered here. Not sure he even brings a 1st

I think 50% retained at the trade deadline he gets a late first or at the very least a 2nd. He has value cause of his style of play in the playoffs. Savard is a lot worse and he fetched more than a first. Does not always dictate future deals but is a good indication of what really good teams will pay to win

Yeah no way in heck Sakic trades a 1st for a guy destined for the bottom 6 no matter how you sugar coat it. 1st rd picks are worth so much more than other picks particularly in hockey.

not to mention lehky might not even crack avs top 12 forwards. maybe he can bump out helm but there's not that much of a difference.
