the islanders aren’t currently in a position to trade away capable d-men, but if they’re still bad at the deadline i would think mayfield could definitely be had for a first. they might do two seconds but he’s cheap and capable so imo they just hold onto him otherwise.

I think it all will depend on how they view Kevin Bahl’s development in AHL is going (and really, Shakir Mukhamadullin in KHL). Both those guys will likely be given chance to make roster, okay legit minutes in 2022-23. Luke Hughes arrives a year later.

Don't think the return is quite enough given that Devils are bailing Blues out of Scandella's contract, that third year will hurt the Devils as they'll be a cap limit team by then.
Could work if Mikkola was swapped out for a prospect like Neighbours or Bolduc and Devils retains 50% on Graves contract in return.
